Don't buy any FiiO product from SainStore on Amazon and how to distinguish a genuine FiiO E6... - Page 2

You know you've made a popular item when...

But thank you for the advice, Fiio.

Well, well, well. Looks like I may have gotten a fake. Ordered it from EMUSIC ENTERPRISE INC from Amazon (it was even thru their Prime program) around the first of April. I wonder if Amazon will do anything about this. My first friggin' amp and it's fake. I am so bummed. :-(   Anything I can do?

Are fakes being sold in other online retailers (like Newegg, for example)?

Like they say, imitation is the highest form of flattery.

and clones don't tend to sound very well either, so if that's what you want...

Hi shockdoc, could you please show us pictures of the item you received? Does it have a Serial Number on the packaging? If so, what is it?

We will post the authorized retailer list in UK, US, Europe when we finish the collection. and also the black list.

BTW, we already send Counterfeit complaint letter to Amazon. but currently , please visit where to buy in our official website to find our authorized reatiler/agents/distributor in local market and buy from them.

thanks for the help, its great to see a company that cares for the consumers, especially the quirky community of head-fi tongue_smile.gif

Hi Cathy, Sent you a PM. No serial number on the package. Externally it looks like a legit E6 as far as I can tell. I'm a little afraid of trying to open the case for fear of breaking it. Still looking for my owners manual to compare that.

apparently I have a fake one. I got one last week and unfortunately I tossed the packaging before I found out about this thread. It got it on amazon from a company called BTA CORP which apparently isn't an authorized seller

If I recall correctly I don't think it had a serial number on it or else I wouldn't have thrown it out. Also, I think mine is fake because the ring loop on it looks pretty thick compared the the real E6 in the pictures and the USB port definitely looks like its sunken into the surface.

I'm afraid to open it in fear of breaking it.

So now I'm sitting on a $30 paperweight that I apparently won't be able to return and definitely can't use on my new klipsch m40s. :(

I'm curious to why would someone make a "fake" fiio product. It simply does not make sense.

Man I hope not all things with CORP in it are bad :/

SMI CORP has a positive feedback so that seems promising. Couldn't find anything on BTA Corp though.
