Upgrade from Superlux HD681?

Hey.

I got my Superlux HD681 a month back and they sound really good. I can't explain how CRISP and DETAILED the sound is on these things. I can hear every little thing. + the Xonar DG. I almost cried when I first heard them. Buuut. They have a bit of boring sound and are really uncomfortable sometimes (depends on weather really)

TL;DR: I need a pair of headphones with nearly identical sound clarity/detail to the 681's but with a more fun sound and improved comfort.

Here are a few headphones I've been thinking of.

Sony XB500

Sony XB700

Panasonic HTF-600 (but I've heard the sound is very 'slow', what does this mean?)

I'm thinking of one of the Sonys because of the comfortable.

as far as i can tell you the sony's bass is through the roof, but not too bloated too, the detail and clarity is pretty decent isnt as good as the superlux though i belive, do you want a very wide soundstage? or that's not so importaint

With me, going from HD681 to XB500 will be downgrade, not upgrade, all the can you listed is not good enough to make a real upgrade from HD681. My friend told me the RX700 is on par with HTF-600 and i prefer the HD681 to the RX700 ( my HD681 is filter modded)

Maybe about as much as the 681s. Not much lower. (I'm not sure if the 681s have a good one in the first place because I have nothing to compare it to)

So anything else that might be good?

not many good cans i know off under $60... (sorry my limited experience), cause you see the superlux at about $40 is such a good value it competed with many cans at the 100$ range, so getting a 60$ can that will be a significant upgrade to the superlux might be a bit of a problem...

I'll probably get a pair of 500's or 700s and then if I don't like them over my 681s I'll send them back

thanks for the help. time to start saving

im haven't had the chance tp try the XB700, but it appears that the impendance is lower on the XB700 at only 24ohms while the XB500 has 40ohms

okay.

I wish I never got the 681 because they are so detailed and the sound is so crisp that it makes anything less seem even worse in comparison xD

I might get the 500's because the 700's look like their cup size is similar to the 681's (gigantic)

What about EQ-ing the 681s instead of replacing them. I haven't heard anything as good for the same money.

With my 681Fs I use +10dB ramping up from 60Hz to 20Hz, and -10dB from ~8kHz to 20kHz. Apart from losing a bit in the 15-20kHz range the phones are dead flat with this EQ.

what are you using to EQ?

could you also please post a picture of the EQ on a graphic equalizer please?
