Thanks for the reply, StellarMoig.

 

I'm not interested in the XB-500., only the AKG K550, and whether anyone who wears glasses has used them and managed to get a good enough fit, or had serious difficulty with that. Obviously a good fit and seal is more important to the sound of a closed, compared to an open headphone. It might not matter for a headphone with as much bass as the XB-500 reportedly has, but that's beside the point.

 

Maybe I should start a thread with this specific question. I've read all the threads I can find about the AKG K550. I know their fit can be tricky; they can be adjusted, though maybe not for small heads. I'd like to hear from someone who's managed to wear the AKG K550 over glasses and get a good acoustic seal.

Hi - I wear glasses and don't have a big noggin, but they seal fine and get plenty quantity in bass. They're very comfortable, but like most  sealed phones, they get warm. These seem to get more warm than others though. I also really like the sound they produce.  I had a heck of a time EQ'ing the Denon D2000 for movies to get decent sub-bass performance and natural voices, but the K550's sounded great with very minor tweaking. In fact, I tried to get the Denon's to sound as close as possible to the K550 sound sig. The only reason I'm sticking with Denon is because they don't get too warm while watching a 2hr movie - which is plus when we're both watching a movie.
