i'm very interested in AKG K550 but i afraid it sound warm , dark , color or thick sound . My fav sound sign is cold , bright ( maybe neutral ) , not too thick ( maybe thin ) , a lot of details , maybe big soundstage .......... and my source is ipod touch 4 + RSA Protector

Can anybody give me some advices for K550 plsss or some other better headphones around 700$ ??

Try HE-400's with Asgard or HE-500's if you already have an amp to pair it with.

The he-500 would certainly fit your desired sound signature better than the he-400. But you will need a proper amp as indicated by Mcberto.

k550s have an amazing sound stage, pretty close to q701s, have a lot of detail, and I would say they are fairly neutral. This guy does a pretty good review: http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/wonderfully-competent-akg-k550-sealed-headphone although I think they are a bit better than his description, but then again I like the AKG sig a lot so I may have some bias.

Sony MDR-SA5000. Not portable (the cable is *way* too long and they're open).

Cold, spacious, bass-light, detailed. Really it's like your post was just describing them. L3000.gif

If you need portable, Beyerdynamic T70 - they're more towards harsh but they provide passive isolation and are fairly thin and spacey (especially for a closed can). Basically it's a compromise.

Also - you do know the AKG K550 is nowhere near $700 right?

During recent NYC meet i heard K550 with my Cowon A3 and with Burson 160D and they lacking bass with both setups while T70p (yes they sound more brighter than K550) with Cowon don't. I didn't try T70p with Burson but the owner did and said he prefer T70p over K550. I know T70 have just higher impedance than T70p but not sure if my Cowon will handle T70 but T70p are much more expensive right now than T70. Also be aware HE-400/500 are heavy headphones so may cause comfort concern for some people

@: for my taste , neutral is ok ( must be no warm ) but i afraid it has a little bit warm like Ibasso DX100 , i love headphones which emphasis in high , mid .......... :D

From the few headphones that I have:

Sennheiser HD-650 (Very warm/thick sound. Can make out a few details. Not bright at all.)

Sennheiser HD-595 (A tad less warm/thick sounding than the HD-650, but still too much for my taste. Not bright enough)

Ultrasone HFI-680 (A little on the cold side, a little bright. Soundstage sounds wide. Bass might be a tad too much).

Sennheiser HD-280 PRO (My favourite. It is a little on the cold side. Not so bright as the HFI-680, but still bright enough for me. Bass is just right. Soundstage only sounds wide if the source music has a wide soundstage)

Out of these I think you should check out the Ultrasone HFI-680.

Maybe you should try looking into studio monitoring headphones rather than 'audiophile' headphones like:

AKG K271

Sennhesier HD-280 PRO

Sony MDR-7506

Audio-Technica M50

AKG K550

,but most of these are way below $700

No, K550 is not dark indeed. Though it isn't as bright as Beyer DT880/600 or T70.

I would say K500 has neutral sounding with a hint of warmness and minimal reverb unlike Beyer T70 which is also fairly neutral for me (more to bright side though), the reverb coming from T70's housing is a bit annoying.

At that price range with sound that you decribe, you can start to look at Shure SRH1840.
