The CMA800R unit has one 3-pin XLR jack. For mono. You need two of these units to get L and R balanced output.

I did end up ordering the A28 though! Let's hope they ship it out before the Chinese New Year break

Ordered one as well.  I guess if the D8 and A8 are released shortly I will be eating Kraft Dinner for a while. :)

I think the A28 has a tall hurtle to go over with the questyle amp on the market.
Isn't the Questyle a lot more expensive than the A28 (like 2.5 times the price)?  Not sure they belong in the same category for direct head to head competition.  It would be a sad day indeed for Questile if the A28 equals it.
hmm I'm pretty sure the questyle amp doesn't have a price tag of nearly 3k which is 2.5x the price of the a28.

A28 599.99 at Grant Fidelity.  2.5 X 600=1500.00.  I thought Questyle was 1500.00 on Amazon.com.  I didn't shop around for better prices.  Perhaps I am missing something.

youre not. It was me, didn't realize the A28 was price so low. Holy smokes 599?

It says MSRP - $599 so I would say that is the normal price.

I didn't turn up and reviews of this amp when I searched.  Does anyone know if this amp has been reviewed?

There are a few reviews on erj but with the translation I find them difficult to gain much from:

http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=zh-CN&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=fr&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.erji.net%2Fread.php%3Ftid%3D1593235&act=url

I will have mine waiting for me when I get back home in about 15 days and will share my impressions when i try it out.  Perhaps project86 might share some early impressions when he gets his.

Also a headfi tread specific to the A28 started:

Somebody might post there soon???

Mine just arrived today. I have a crazy schedule this week so I probably won't get to it very quickly. Build is typical Yulong (excellent). Looks like the same enclosure as DA8, nice and heavy, with a front panel that to my eyes looks better in person than in the photos.

Thanks for the update.  Anxious to hear any preliminary impressions when you get a chance.

I'd be all over the A28 but I've gone to the speaker amp realm

That is still my preference for listening to music.  I love headphones because they allow me to bring a high level of listening away from home with me.  At home though speakers are how I do most of my listening.

Or do you mean speaker amp for headphones?  I would be into trying that.
