been thinking of DAC + headphone AMP:D

 

 

short list

 

 

audiolab M-dac

 

SChiit bitfrost + asgard    - i read something about a HUMMMM problem?

 

 

any other better option than these?

DACmini, DACport, Anedio D2 are worth a look as well.

I like the DAC mini... how does it compare to the schiit and audiolab?than

DACmini has sparkling high and punchy bass.

 

I only listen to Bifrost and Lyr, but not with Asgard so i don't think my impression is valid.  As far as Bifrost goes, the 'clicking' issues (when the music is paused) is deal breaker for me, no matter how nice the sound is.

 

How about DACport? and something from Audio Gd like NFB 2.1, I think the price is really good.

I have 2 of Audio Gd DAC, and liking the sound more than Bifrost (A/B compare in the store, driven with the same amp, Lyr, and the same cdp).

A practical combo is the HA-160Ds, it plays nicely with the headphones you listed.
