Sony MDR-XB 1000 noisy hinges

Hey fellow music appreciators,

 

I own a pair of MDR-XB1000s and have recently had the issue of the hinges that connect the headband to the speakers squeaking.  I figure that using some wd-40 or something may work but im not sure how to apply it. 

 

any suggestions would be helpfull thanks

Use a little bit of vegetable oil on a Q-tip. Rub it gently over the hinge joints where it pivots.

You want enough so a few drops go down inside the hinge.
