I'm still hopeful to get a few others, including the AIAIAI Capital and TMA-1 Studio.

You guys expect to get a real PX100II for $8.49????? I doubt you could even get a real beaten up used one for that price.

 

Instead of a fake PX100II though, for just a few dollars more, you could have bought a real JVC HA-S160.

Oh my, the HA-S600 and HA-S160 are two of the worst sounding, to my ears, headphones I have ever purchased.  The PX100 is one of my favorite headphones.   Gotta love how subjective this hobby is...

I tried the HA-S160 for a few days. I thought they were pretty good for the $20CN I paid for them (on sale from $30CN), and apparently a bit more burn in time would have helped them more. At the time I was also auditioning Portapro's and KSC75's, and the HA-S160 flats lost out - they just seemed kind of flat to me (no pun intended!), and lacking detail, even after a fair amount of EQ'ing. I now have a PX100-II (sounds friggin' great), and my KSC75's are modded (sounds really friggin' great), and I just can't imagine the HA-S160's coming close. I might give them another chance though one day if they ever go on sale ($30 is way to much imo, considering the KSC75's are the same price here).

Well, I expected to take a chance, and I did.  I've gotten some nice deals over the years - including an HD 218i for $15.  So a PX 100-II for eight fitty would not have been totally implausible.  Didn't work out this time though.  smile.gif

B&H has the HA-S160 for $9.99 in black, but shipping for one to Canada is $8.53. I guess shipping for 3 of them though might only be around $10.

Thanks JK1. I think though that I will end up getting the Portapro's again first. I remember really digging the drivers on the earclips, and I see that I could get the Sportapro (which has Portapro drivers I'm pretty sure) off of ebay.ca shipped for less than $30CN. Then again, I'm really happy with both my PX100-II's, and my modded KSC75's, so I don't know what's wrong with me - do I need any more headphones??? (apart from the HT1350's that is LOL!)

Every once in a while you do find great deals, but I'm always leary if there are a bunch of units available. I can't understand why they would make fakes and sell them for so cheap. It would make more sense to copy them and try to sell for a little lower price than the originals. I almost bought some AKG K450's last year for about $30 USD, but they were shipped from Hong Kong and I was supsicious.

I do really like the HA-S650, but not nearly as much as the PX-100 II. I'm currently reviewing the HA-S600 and HA-M750. Obviously I'll be giving my full impressions, but so far I would say the HA-S650 is the better JVC headphone.

WAYNENUMM,

 

Why get another pair of Koss with the same driver if you're happy with the KSC75? They aren't going to sound all that different. Why not go for something with yet another sound signature? Have you looked into getting the AKG K422? Or maybe a circumnaural like the Panasonic RP-HTF600? A friend of mine has them (about $30 US) and they are pretty amazing for that price.

Keep in mind that my experience is limited to only a few drivers, but I did find the Poratpros (on earclips) to sound quite a bit different than the KSC75's on parts-express headband. I enjoyed the bass on the Portapros (even though at times they could get muddy), and what be a seemed to be a larger soundstage (but that might have been mainly due to them being on the earclips). At any rate, considering getting them is more a response to headphone addiction lol!

No I haven't. I will now though! You previously didn't help to sway me from the DT1350's when you said this:
