Koss Tony Bennett Signature Edition: Will I Be Dissapointed?

Hey guys,

 

This might be a strange request, but here goes.


I have the opportunity to get the Koss Tony Bennett Signature Edition for $80. I am ALL for trying before I buy, but I can't find a local store that I can demo them at. While I know that it really isn't fair to compare these to headphones that cost triple the cost, I'm going to ask you guys to do just that for me. I guess I'm looking to be talked out of them, but if the Tony Bennetts do anything that is DIFFERENT or excels in a particular domain relative to these other headphones, please let me know. I have seen some people say good things about the Koss cans, but I don't want to fuel my headphone addiction by buying stuff I'll just not use.

So if you'll please, can anyone shed some light on how the Koss Tony Bennett Sig Edition will compare to these:
AKG K550

Sennheiser HD558 (now foam modded)
Sennheiser HD25

Grado SR60

I think all the goodies are in that thread, but in short, my opinion is it is a great headphone. For the price, it is fantastic, only downside is the need for an amp practically.

If you're going for sound/value the ProDJ100 is the same can (fewer goodies/no Tony) and it regularly falls just below $50--in the U.S.at least.  At that pirce this mid-centric closed can (making it very different than the open Grado) is an outstanding value.  It's competitive at $100, but not at $150--so it's no giant killer.  Build quality is very good.  As stated, it's weakness is that it needs to be amped.
