little dot mk3 w/NFB-12

Hello, i'm currently in the search for a new Amp for my sennheiser hd 650's, I've currently got it paired up with a all in one Dac-Amp which is the Audio GD NFB-12 and i am looking for something with more juice and overall something that will produce a clear and more pristine sound.

The little dot mk3 has caught my eye and it's price so i am leaning towards it but i want to know what people think of this amp, and will i notice any difference with the sound quality if i do purchase it and pair it up with my NFB 12?

All in all is it worth it?

I have never heard the Little Dot but tube amps, especially cheap ones, are not known for their 'clear pristine' quality.

If that is what you are looking for then I would recommend a solid stste amp.

It doesn't have to be mind blowing, and as pristine as a whistle but i want a better sound and higher quality then what i am getting now with just my NFB-12 hence the thread.

I want to know if i pair up the Littledot as an Amp and use the NFB-12 as a dac will i notice much of a quality gain or is it a waste of money, and if it is what would you recommend?

I could not say if the Little Dot would be an improvement over the NFB-12 as I have not heard either. They will sound different but not likely to be better.

The LD may be better than the NFB-12 as an amp but not likely to be in the areas you want.

The HD650's are not known for their clarity or pristine qualities thats why I still recommend a SS amp.

If you're not ready to explore with tube swapping, sticking to solid state amps should be relatively safer. On the other hand once I've tried going tubes for my HD650 my M3 has been left alone for quite some time, but of course that was not before i tried out a bunch of tubes before i found what i wanted :)
