Do not have the GR02, so can't commnet on the bass.  But I do have the FX40, and the bass is decent, but not as detailed nor has the low extension (the 20-50 Hz sub-bass range) that the $15 Philips SHE-3580 has.  The SHE-3580 is a fantastically balanced inexpensive IEM with very deep bass extension.
