hi all, i want the best all-rounder, but mainly for rock...

 

these are some of the options i had:

 

akg q701

akg k701

ath ad700

ath a700

ath m50wh

shure srh940

sony hdr7506HD

dt880

dt990

hd280 pro

hd598

 

if you can suggest some more, please do it

    Unfortunately you can't delete it, it's there for posterity : (

    Not to worry, I made my own set of errors when I was a newbie back when, and I would bet that's true of most Head-Fiers.

The Beyerdynamic DT990 Pro 250-Ohm, if you have a decent headphone amplifier.

Nah dt 880, dt 880 is great for ROck. The 990 might have to much treble... But both r excellent the 990 is a more fun can, the extra bass n highs u might not want

I'd have to say the DT880 is the best all rounder beyerdynamic headphone in the 770-880-990 lineup, since it's the most neutral. smily_headphones1.gif

 

I'm not the one to say since I only heard it briefly but almost everything sounded pretty good on it. Just my 2 cents.

I own it and it does everything well. It does jazz and rock pretty awesomely!

DT770-880-990 Pro and HD 598 for me. AD900 and Q701 are nice but their bass impact is quite on the weak side of all-rounder.

see another vote for dt 880! Yea I've heard the q701 is nice but again, ppl say it lacks bass. I might be a nice can to use if you had a slighty bass boosted Solid Sate or tube. U might even be able to e1 a little more bass if u wanted [but I'm not a fan of eq unless im listening to EDM]
