I have a SA-1 for sale.

I prefer it to the Ref 5.32 I owned, but it has no ACSS and is single ended only.

Yep, Kingwa is clearing out all the PCM1704UK DAC's.

I think the SA-1 is also no longer for sale...

I got one of the last Ref-5.32 :D Loving it!

Need balanced out.

I have recently bought an Emotiva Stealth DC-1 and I am very impressed with it. So much so that I am pondering whether I should sell my Reference 5.2. Not that it is qualitatively inferior to the DC-1; in fact, with levels carefully matched I struggle to identify substantial differences. They are there, but much more subtle than I was expecting. All else being equal, the DC-1 wins by virtue of the extra features if offers, including Analogue In and Preamp function with full Remote Control, Two high quality Headphone Outs -good for anything up to 300 Ohms- and, important to me, an AES digital In. Not to mention a nice display with Native Sample Rate information, which the Reference 5.2 sadly lacks. Anyway, I haven't decided anything yet. In many ways the 5.2 is and will remain quite a special DAC, by virtue of those unique R2R Chips, and if I make a rushed decision I may very well regret it in future.

All the best.

But no volume control (no pre-amp), unless paired with the NFB-6.

Really? How's that possible? I wasn't even aware that it could be remote controlled. So what are the functions available?

I asked Kingwa and the man said it could be done, and it was done :)
I needed IR remote for a project I am working on... (software controlled interface)

Exactly the same functions as the front of the Ref-5.32 (excluding power)
So I can select inputs , set output levels etc.

That is great! I wished he would have given me the same option. In fact, I feel somewhat peeved because at the time of ordering I did ask him whether the model was Remote Controllable, to which he simply replied No...:(

Question may of got lost in translation ?:)

That may have been the case, but I have actually asked the question in a very simple manner, like "does it come with remote control?". He just answered that it didn't...

Well he was honest , it did not :D Language translations are not easy.

Lucky I have help from the wife...

You may want to drop him an email as its only the front PCB that looks different, so it should be easy to swap out and replace your self ?

He may sell you just the IR enabled front panel ?

He he, I guess he was... Thanks for the suggestion. I had already done that and he replied that all it takes is to replace the display board by an IR enabled one, as you have suggested. And an Audio-GD generic remote, of course. I will probably go for it. Thank you for sharing! :)
