Well I finally have my choices, (if you saw my other thread)

 

iPod Classic 7th generation

Fiio L9 LOD

PA2V2

Maverick Audio TubeMagic D1 

 

Senns HD650 or HD600??

Also consider that if you plan to continue upgrading amp/dac's in future, 650's will perform better imo.

The HD650 do well on soft rock. With more aggressive genres go for something else.

Not true!

The HD650 are one if not the one,that scales best!It seems they have an endless potential.

But not on Fiio level,of course!

I don't know if Hendrix and Ledzep are brutal enough, but I happen to like them through a HD650. I mean they sure as hell ain't soft because I'm not when I listen to them!

This is how I feel as regards to the HD650's being "laidback".  Forward presentation, metaphorically speaking, would be like someone shoving you lightly. It is somewhat forced upon you. I feel like in the case of the HD650s,  it's like a large man just standing 2 inches from you breathing into your face. Let there be no doubt...I am acutely aware of his presence LOL.

Depends on your amp/source. HD650 can be aggressive enough for me. As a phone I enjoy it way more than the HD600. I sold my 600 after I listened to the 650.
