Both versions of the Heaven VI use a copper tube for the body, and the gold is just a different exterior finish option, so yeah they should both sound the same. It's the same way with the Piano Forte X-CC and X-G.

Thanks Muppetface for chipping in.

Revisiting my earlier thoughts on the Heaven VI and hard rock, I'm sitting here listening to early Black Crows - the infamous band with the great sound but no great songs. It sounds... great. There's lots of edge.

This is just straight from the (remarkably powerful) X5. Really I think that one could just buy the X5 and Heaven VI and go home. I'm listening to this combination 90% of the the time. Throw in a couple of 64GB microSD cards, that's a nice little thousand dollar system. It sounds like a lot but people spend so much on multiple components (guilty as charged on my side). The X5 + Heaven VI is actually a cost-efficient high impact beast.

My two cents for the world.

And I might pocket your two cents!

Tried it today as well. It''s very smooth and sweet but on the dark side and a little bit congested to my ears though quite wide to my other friend's ears that tried it.  Bass is good coming from just a dual BA. Build quality is fantastic. As for the aesthetic value, it looks a lot better in person. The pattern is not printed etc. It's grooved at each alternate square and actually pretty nice. Pictures so far here haven't done it justice.

Dark and a bit congested? Hmmm pretty peculiar coming from a top shelf FAD product...

On the flip side, I spent about 25 minutes with a friend's Pandora VI and really enjoyed it. Fantastic phone for the money, with engaging mids, a spacious presentation, and vivid layering. Was much more comfy than I was lead to believe as well. Just a shame that FAD dropped the ball on the sliding mechanisms on the ear cups, I mean I guess it can't be a FAD product unless one aspect of the phone completely befuddles you

I've looked on the web and no one seems to have a bad word to say about the Heaven V1. Except ergonomics and microphonic cable. Am I right in forming the impression that these IEM's are not really suitable for commuting? Many thanks.

They isolate pretty well, don't see why you couldn't use them on a bus/train/plane.

What's wrong with their ergonomics?

Thank you for the reply. I'm concerned about walking to and from the station. By ergonomics I was referring to the way the cable exits at an angle.

I wear them cable down, no problem with that.

Honestly, they are incredibly microphonic when I walk with them straight down. So, per someone's tip in this thread, I wear them as if I was wearing them down and then just loop the cable over my ears loosely. Super comfortable, doesn't look nearly as stupid as you would think, pretty much removes microphonics. Great sounding IEM otherwise.

Sounds loopy!wink.gif
Have you tried clipping the cable to your clothing?

Haha, I haven't. Not really a fan of clips but it might work just fine. I'd say that you might have to clip it as high up as you can.

I'll also say this. At the very least, it's an IEM that I can happily fall asleep with sitting upright on the couch. biggrin.gif

I've got my HD600's for the couch. smily_headphones1.gif
I am looking to replace my IE8's after several years of living with their limitations I am looking for amazeballs!
Can I ask you. Did you have cheaper IEM's before theV1's?

Sometimes, I just tuck the cables under my sweater...cables are just long enough to let me keep my player in my pants pocket...Summertime but be a challenge, though.
