Try searching via kakaku.com, for example http://kakaku.com/item/K0000418981/?lid=ksearch_kakakuitem_image, which shows price circa 320 USD. Using Tenso would add something like 30-50 USD to that price get it delivered.

It's still quite pricey for me right now :(

BUT... PANDORA FREAKING HOPE 6 sounds expansive on everything! How to tell non-expansive ones from expansive?

LOL I took the Golden Ear test with the PHVI too but I actually found stereo width to be super easy to tell.

Today felt like Christmas all over again as my PF-IX got a new companion, a Heaven VI. Although I am sure that I am preaching to the choir, all I can say is WOW what a pair!

This is truly a fine collection that you now have! Wow indeed.

I am the new owner (well, not quite- they're still in transport) of these PFVIII.  I was curious if anyone else has had any issues regarding the finish of their phones.  It appears to be some sort of tarnishing?  The user I'm getting them from received them from the original owner and the registration card is included; he also indicated that they sound spot on.  I tried looking around but haven't seen any other reports of this issue...

No one has any thoughts?

As they are made of brass, I would expect them to tarnish somewhat over time, but by careful polishing with a good quality metal polish such as MAAS, you should be able to keep them looking like gold. As I have not seen the VIII's, I don't know if Final uses lacquer over the brass or not. If they do use lacquer, I wouldn't suggest trying to polish them, as it is pretty difficult to polish it off.

Thanks so much for the response- I wish it was easier to find information about this model in particular...

While I own the PF-IX, I do think that the PFVIII, IX and X all share a somewhat similar house sound. With the right music, they are simply stunning in their rendition of space and timbre. They are not, however, all-arounders but with music that they like, they ROCK!. Their comfort can best be described by how well the inside hollow of your ear matches the shape of the phone. Mine are, once warmed to body temperature, extremely comfortable. I soon forget that I am wearing phones as I am completely surrounded by music.
