I tried my Heaven VI with Sony hybrid tips. Seems like all the bass impact is gone. Maybe it is the FAD tips that gives it. But the comfort is not as good as the hybrids.

Interesting song!

Last night was a Piano Forte kind of night.

I've had it for about a week now, but I haven't been able to really get into it like I did last year. All I could think about was what i wasn't hearing, and what I was hearing to much of.

Then, these songs came around on shuffle:

And everything rushed back to me. I ended up listening to the entire album again (for the 3rd time this week).

It's like the PF's modus operandi is to suddenly gobsmack you when you least expect it.

I'll stop before I get too poetic again.

Excellent, eke.

I revisited my Heaven VI's this weekend. Have not listened to them in a good while, but thoroughly enjoyed them over the past few days. Quickly reminded of what a fantastic phone they are. I also dropped my PF's in for a short session. Like a banned bird, I will probably hold on to them forever.

In loving memory of the faithfully departed, I attest that HF will never be the same, and unfortunately will be all the worse for it. Here's to you, grumpy one:

I'm deciding on maybe getting the Heaven VI, decided not to go for the Parterre since it's over my budget. What do they sound like though. I'm looking for something with neutral bass, mid forward, good clarity and a big soundstage with good width and depth. Genres of music I listen to are mainly female vocals, rock, metal, post rock, jazz, instrumentals and a little rap/hip hop now and then. Is this iem suitable for me? Also what is the difference between this and the Heaven IV?

This description seems to match how I hear the VI's. They are great with rock. Haven't used them too much with female vocals or metal lately.

Yea it sounds about right to me too.

I've read the VI are a bit more weighty on the low end than the V, so I'd say it is probably a bit above neutral.

Molex makes it for S'NEXT, who makes it for FAD. In reality, Molex == S'NEXT == FAD, so yes, it's about as "in-house" as it gets, apart from Sony. From earlier in the thread:

Yeah, I really lucked out, but was sweating it for a bit.

I once picked up some fake tubes on fleabay, that was a hassle.

Anyway, I've been using my PFVIII's whenever I get the chance. Just got the DX50 today and I do have to say, they seem to have a better organic mix than with the X3.

The PF's really sparkle with the DX50, perhaps they like the more neutral but slightly thinner sounding DX50 over the richer, darker and thicker sounding X3?

Close enough but I suspect they're run as separate entities under one umbrella.
