As for me, well, I have a confession! My PF's have been languishing in their case for the last few weeks, not because I have fallen out of love with them, no, more to do with the fact I live on a busy road and that it gets very muggy here in the summer so windows have to be open and fans on full blast so my T5P's have been taking on all the listening duties ( not that it is a hardship, I love them and in many ways I think them spiritually very close to the PF's in the way they deliver the spirit and emotion of the performance). But today it is cooler so tonight I shall be with my wonderful PF's again, I am dying to listen to my latest HDTT download, Beethovens Mass in C major, Karl Ricther conducting the Munich Bach Choir and transferd to high resolution from a 4 track tape. I listened last night with the Beyer's and it was magnificent but I just know this piece is made for the PF's!

Thanks for the kind words. They are a challenge to describe and I think I said you have to hear to believe a few to many times.

Man my PFs just keep getting more use at the moment. wink.gif

Thanks. So I guess it is just a piano forte II

Edit: After further research I found the exact model that I have. It turns out it is in fact a piano forte I

Now a further report on how I feel about the sound of these. Every fiber of my being tells me that these headphones are absolute crap. The audiophile in me says that there is no that way I should like the way these sound. The tonality is just so off balanced. I am so utterly disappointed while listening to music with these. Most music that is. When it comes to music that has little bass these headphones are one of my favorite I own. Vocals especially are like lsd laced honey pouring over my ears. it's just so smooth and natural and airy. I want to hate these. I want to pawn them off on my non audiophile friends. But then just the right song passes through shuffle and all those thoughts disappear. And I want to just listen forever.

I've wanted to diversify my collection. and these may just be the perfect fit.

Perfectly understandable when you consider VH fans are a dubious & sleazy lot.

I may have just had a thoroughly music moment but having some serious sonic firepower at my disposal right now, personally and on loan, I put the Heaven V in my ears and no more that 2 minutes into one crappy top 40 song, my heart was skipping beats and my eyes betrayed my inner sense of amazement and wonder.

If no one else answers this, I'll give it my best shot with the Heaven V that is supposed to be quite similar to the VI.

So I had a dream the other night. That I came across a legit Heaven VI online, limited stock sale for $178.98. So my gf is there and I turn to her and I go. "ok babe, I need your help. Its not really in the budget but its off of almost $500 and my Heaven V is supposed to be very very similar... Should I get it?" To which she responds "$178? Definitely get it." I tell her she's the best.

So I tell her I had this dream in real life and she stares at me for a while then goes "... You had a dream about headphones?" Well that was unexpected. So lightning quick I go "No! I didn't tell you because it was about headphones. I told you because I was happy that you were supporting me in our relationship."

She looked pretty skeptical lol.

FAD Heaven VI has a (very) slightly brighter, smoother mids and highs over the Hifiman RE-600. But both are amazing for their respective price range.

Design wise i'd take the Heaven VI any day over RE-600.

Bottomline, based on your budget, won't go wrong with either options. :)

Though a comparison with the HE-400 is a bit tough. One is in-ear, another headphone.

Video from the Munchen high end show regarding FAD and the Pandora series in the EU:

I think Mr Kenamori Takai should send complimentary sets of Pandoras to MuppetFace, james444, SoundFreaq, woodcans, cooperpwc & music_4321 for their (relentless) enthusiasm which has effectively led to FAD becoming the new Sony. (perhaps a complimentary set to swimsonny, too)

Did those headphone plugs look something like mini-XLR or just pretty much the same as the ones designed for LCD-2 and LCD-3?

Interesting that FAD Europe's Christoph Umbricht used to be Director for Business Development for Audeo, but we all know how that turned out for Phonak... rolleyes.gif

We shouldnt settle for anything less than the Flagship Pandora X model either, hopefully it well share the notoriously painful to wear characteristics as the muramasa viii.

So by this reckoning Final Audio Design will go back to there previous venture of... making speakers..... or hearing aids.... by the end of the year?

Tom, what do you think of the whole, using BAs in a headphone concept, and also how are they going to implement so that they create the same volume as a 50mm dynamic driver? They must have some fun at FAD HQ...

I will accept any lowly models not good enough for the the sparrow sixsome.

I feel like this has been attempted before... I want to say it was AKG but I'd be talking mainly out of my ass.

I'm sorry, Ian, but you only have one pair of FAD phones (the Piano Forte Abomination IX), so you're not hardcore enough!   (joking aside, I don't know why I left out your name — perhaps I've unconsciously resented the fact you've not visited the KAEDE thread!  ;)  )

Yes. Pandora X with the 'up-sell' 'uber' cable, for sure.
