If that was me in that photo—and I think I should clarify it is not (no tattoos of any kind, so far, in this terribly ageing sparrow body)—I wonder if that would then make us three of a perfect pair.

(sorry vwinter, no PF IX, you just won't get all the magic — the HV Ageing just won't get you there; sorry, james444, too, no PF IX , you won't get all the magic, either… though you have the 1601SS, so, hmmm... there's actually hope for you, I guess)

Seriously awful pic, woodcans!

I can't even get my little bit of the magical pie. frown.gif
Don't have my Heaven Va and withdrawl doesn't even begin to describe it. I literally listen to music 70% less. If I had them I'd be listening to music's music sporting a huge grin, even if you guys have 99% of the pixie dust.

Ageing sparrow meets sad panda.

I spent a good while last night A/B'ing my ASG-2 /iP4 combo with my HD600/Asgard combo, and I found the ASG-2 wins by a solid margin in the areas I listen for.

That said, I'm considering selling the HD600/Asgard combo to fund either the PF IX...or a 51-inch FHD Plasma 3D TV.

Ironically the TV is a lot cheaper, but I haven't been able to get the PF sound out of my head since demoing it almost year ago. I'm at a crossroads because my current 24-incher isn't cutting it anymore now that I got a Roku box that lets me use my gf's father's HBOGo subscription on the big screen. Game of Thrones doesn't quite have the same epic feel on a small tv.

Guide me, oh lord Tyll Hertsens.

Dude, you already know the answer. To which device will you have the most emotional attachment?

You came to the wrong place to ask such a question. tongue.gif

There is nothing on Earth like the PF series. So remarkable. So different. I'd give away anything in my collection before giving those away. Would it be my deserted-island phone? Probably not. They are not the best all-rounders, but I value those more than I do anything else I've owned. Actually of any possession, ever. eek.gif

3D TV Pfafff! You could always look out the window whilst listening to the sublime PF's, that's 3D TV in the real biggrin.gif

C'mon son. Don't let these fanatics do you in. Your auditory situation is solid, but your ocular game is clearly lacking. It's about balance. Gotta remedy that with a plasma. Man was not made to watch sexy epics play out on no 24 inch screen.

Goodness that is one extreme response! Unfortunately, if I were to say you were wrong, or I would act differently, I would probably be lying. eek.gif

Best of luck with your decision eke2k6.

That, too.

As much as SoundFreaq is making me want to plan to buy a PF IX with my first decent paycheck and probably ruin my relationship, leaving the PF To keep me warm at night, I'm going to have to go with the voice of reason here, Idsynchrono, and say go for the TV.

Wow. That is hardcore.
But i know the feeling.
Starting with PF IX, you want more.
Now i am settling with PF IX and X-G.

Dear Diary FAD thread,

Feeling quite a bit under the weather today — even some of Beethoven's late string quartets are doing nothing to ease the pain, that is a very bad sign. So, what has caused such upset in our lovely fragile sparrow?

1)  After posting the last music link, no-one said "Great track AND video, music!". All I got was james444's comment about my next wife, whom I've not even yet met in the flesh. Sad, really.

2)  I was called a fanboy last night — no, not a PF IX fanboy. For someone, like me, who has been very vocal and spoken several times about fanboyism, exaggeration, misinformation, shills, conflicts of interest, the cosy relationships several so-called reviewers (and the odd poster, too) have with some manufacturers, etc., to have been called a fanboy was a tremendous blow to my already disintegrating ego and a huge embarrassment to my public persona.

3)  Realising that after having ordered a new piece of gear (a new IEM), I learned that someone else I'm not too fond of had ordered the very same IEM; by the time I considered cancelling my order, I realised the IEM had been shipped already; first time ever I'm not particularly excited at the prospect of receiving a new phone — perhaps it's that part of me that is already (unconsciously?) wanting to dislike said IEM and sell it as quickly as I can.
