The Heaven V Aging does come in the snakeskin box but it's a bit different on the inside since it doesn't come with that Chrome case.

That damn chrome case is my only regret in getting the Aging model. Not that the little leather satchel isn't cool. I keep them in an oval Shure hardcase now.

If anyone for some absolutely insane reason doesn't want their little FAD chrome cigarette case, shoot me a PM.

Don't sell your HVI. I almost did one time, then I listened to them and realized that would be a big mistake : D

They do special things nothing else on earth can.

I hear you. I just got too many stuff I am not using
like w4 and Heir 5.0, Heaven vi might
have to keep them company
Thanks.
What amp are you using with it?

Chris, I agree with you 100%. With a proper fit, these are spectacular IEMs - graceful rendering of vocals yet surprisingly versatile.

They also ramp up brilliantly with the Stepdance. In a few minutes I will go and pick up my new Quickstep. (FYI Amazing sale at Meier Audio ends June 20.) With that, I will have a wonderful portable rig.

James, you are absolutely right! I just took the second largest Sony Hybrids (of the 4-set, green stems, I want try a deeper fit) and cut off half of the stem. Now the entire opening of the Heaven VI is exposed. It's perfect.

Had Quickstep on the list to use with ak100
Might reconsider
Yeah, fit also an issue . I use it when am not moving around as much
Like the wrap around ear cables , I get better fit or at least less moving around

...And now I have done it to the large (greeny-white) stems. I seem to get a better seal and bass with this size.

The Sony Hybrid stem mod is a winner. Thanks!

It ends June 21 actually. $75 off gave me the excuse to finally "upgrade" (really a size downgrade) from the Stepdance.

I also wrap the cable around my ears. It removes all microphonics.

Got some Sony hybrid around here somewhere
Just cut the stem and use with tips that came with ? Any other steps involve?

Might be worth it

Have not heard the Heir stuff, but I like my Heavens a tremendous amount more than my W4 - when I had them ; )

I am Using Ray's P-51 Mustang with them right now. The SR-71B's Output Impedance isn't low enough, and the P-51 is robust and delicious with them. cooper keeps talking about the Stepdance though!

Ok, thanks
An amp that does it justice might be what is needed

I found the Heaven V and VI surprisingly different sounding with different sources. Amps and DACs have all made a very noticeable change in the sound - at least the ones I've played around with. I mean it sounds great out of an iPod, but put a good source and a nice amp behind them and it can be much better. 3-D, rich, spacious... those are the words that come to mind.

^ P51 is a very good amp - the best of Ray's single ended offerings. I still prefer Meier's amps - more neutral than the RSA house sound - but credit where credit is due. What they have in common is that neither is bright, a good thing in my book.

The downside of the stem mod is that you lose a lot of wax protection. The covering on the Heaven VI tip is quite exposed. I keep my ears clean anyway and now I will really have to.
