Watch what you say, MF — next thing you know there'll be a whole bunch of sets of FI-BA-SS in the classifieds selling for ~$200. I foresee a whole series of Heaven V Aging owners in the not so distant future after your post above. Let's hope the hype that will likely ensue does not get a bit out of hand.

My FI-BA-SS are up for sale ($220 usd) or for trade for Heaven V Aging. Also selling my useless AKG 3003 for $103 usd.

Click here for a 2-for-1 special! (Click to show)

- Totally joking, btw. I love this thread.

As soon as I get my kids to bed, this will be playing through the PF's.

Okay, I hate to crowd the thread, but I think this one is better. I will hold off on future photo posts until I have a different/better genre, as this is the last in my 'psychedelic PF' series.

I really like the extra psychedelic on the PF's!

I actually am seriously considering selling my FI-BA-SS. As several of you know, it is my favorite earphone of all time, so that's why I'm still in the "consideration" stage, but I'm taking multiple trips across the Pacific back to the US in the next year or two, along with multiple exam fees that cost $500+. I don't know if I can afford to keep them around. I don't want to let it go, though. redface.gif

Just a heads-up, MF was talking about the FAD Heaven models. AFAIK the FI-BA-SS doesn't belong to this series.

Too late, I'm very cross still. Oh, and I don't like your new avatar.

I know! All the more reason to be upset!

Let's face it, the pic was mediocre. Hope you can sell your IE800 to fund a decent cam.

Well, let's face it, then, if the FI-BA-SS are now selling for ~200 and woodcans is selling his K3003s for $103, how much do you think I'd get for my IE800s? $50? $75? $90 perhaps if I'm lucky? Will that get me a decent camera, or could it simply be a case of a bad/mediocre photographer in the first place?

Strictly speaking, yes, but then we have the FI-BA-SB (Heaven-S) & FI-BA-SS, and then the FI-DC1601SB & FI-DC1601SS and now the FI-DC1602SB (PF VIII) & FI-DC1602SS (PF IX) — at least we both know that sonically the FI-BA-SS & FI-BA-SB are pretty close...er... unless that camera you suggest I should get can help me hear things better, that is.  ;)

Hate to admit it but I have to agree, they're great pics indeed.

Hello everyone,

I took a plunge and bought myself a PF IX to complete my modest system of AK100 + AKG K3003.

Right off the bat, PF IX got me really bad; I thought I would need some adjustments, some re-learning to appreciate PF IX.

I was wrong.

Instantly I 'got it' and 'got on with it'. I listened to various music for hours..hours..and hours...try to find the music to match.

Right now I am so in love with my PF IX that I think I will pursue PF X immediately to complete my collection.

I re-read all the posts in this thread and really how I love this FAD appreciation thread than other threads in Head-FI.

I think I agree on previous post by Music_4321 that If I only have I IEM, that would be AKG K3003 but If I can choose two, PF IX will be 'the psychedelic IEM" to keep.

PF IX sound so special, so emotional and the ultimate layman test was with my wife. She was curious why I got excited with these 'earbuds' and tried them herself.

Immediately she 'got it' too and said these PF IX were great IEMs even though she was not an audiophile nor paid special attention to my esoterica hobby in music.

Great bread, great music, and great people in this discussion.

I love also all those wallpaper quality pictures, make me want to take photos of mine as well :-)

Special thanks to the posts by MuppetFace, Music_4321, Ianmedium, James444 for helping me decide to buy PF IX.

Congratulations! Your like me and "got it" right from the get go. It is the emotion eh, it just grabs one, sure it might not do what a lot of traditional headphones do but that for me pales in comparison to what it does better I think than any other out there and that is convey micro emotions in music.

For me this is a purchase you make with your heart, not your head. Like so many truly great things in life be them people or objects they tug the heart strings, not the intellect. It's a bit like two people looking at the ceiling of the sistine chapel. One says, "nice mural" the other stands in awe and silence!

Also known in some very exclusive, sophisticated & classy circles as Da Earbud Club.

Wow, stunning pics, woodcans! (seriously)

EDIT: Was listening to this track with the PF IXs when I saw your brilliant pics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qn7Xxasbj9I —— this whole album ("Spirit of Eden") is uniquely rendered by the IXs.

These earphones are the epitome of inspiration. Very nicely done. Of course I want all the full-res versions to cycle through my compter wallpaper.
