I tend to omit images when quoting, but this deserves to be shown again. Without a doubt this is my favorite image of the Piano Forte earphones. It captures the mood I get when listening and really encapsulates my enjoyment of them since they're my go-to for shoegazer, dreampop, various 80s waves, etc.

Thanks so much for sharing this.

it really is beautiful, downloading now!

^^  Wait, wait, wait… didn't we all agree woodcans is persona non grata in this thread because he loves Van Halen, no mater how much he raves over the PF IXs?  ;)

Great pic, woodcans!

Maybe someone could photoshop big hair and leotards onto the PF's, the background already looks like one of their sets biggrin.gif Oh please, someone who knows how to do that do that, I would love to see it!

I really appreciate all of your comments. Even yours, Music wink.gif. Of note, thanks to the unique shape and reflective properties of the PF's, all props used to take the photo, including the camera and photographer, are in the photo. This was unintentional and noticed after the fact.

Hey Ian, did you ever get to check out the Amplifier album I mentioned in a different thread? Here's (again) a link to the opening track of the album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGC9Lji2JLw ---- Like I said then, if you like Tool's Lateralus, you may quite enjoy this album, AND it sounds great on the PF IXs.

-----------------

woodcans, please excuse my sense of humour, I know it's sometimes taken the wrong way — and this, in most instances, is largely my fault. No offence (or mocking) meant at all; I think it's great to have you on-board this very different/peculiar thread.

Anyway, and for what it's worth, here's track sent to me a couple of days ago by a good friend who happens to enjoy Van Halen quite a bit — I personally think this one's an excellent track, which also sounds great on the PF IXs (not too crazy about the video, though, tbh, and haven't had a chance to listen to the whole album yet): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymLJz3N8ayI

No excuses needed. I enjoyed the humor.

I bought the Amplifier album based upon your prior recommendation. It sounds great with the IX's. Thank you!

Not so crazy about the Stuck Mojo. Rap & I only occasionally get along.

Dear All,

I am a newbie to this thread and interested to know about PF X-G vs CC.

I have a chance to get either one and want to hear some opinions regarding which one to get.

Which model do you recommend and why?

Thanks a lot :-)

I am new in this thread but have started some time ago.

I am using AK100 + AKG K3003 for daily use and interested to know how is the combination of AK100 + PF X?

I am into Japanese Esoterica products and the search for review of PF X led me to this wonderful forum :-)

Thanks

Don't think anybody in this thread has so far mentioned trying AK100 / PF X combo, but there's a member who will soon be getting the AK100 and already has the PF X (as well as the PF IX), so you may want to wait a few more days (or a couple of weeks) for her impressions. After all, the PF X is a very, very expensive phone, so the wait may be worthwhile.

----------------------

No vintage radio here, but a unique rendering of this track no other phone I have in my possession seems to come even close to — must be, among other things, that shamelessly unapologetic rendering of the midrange on the PF IXs that stands out beautifully on this track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjcmGBEnDwk

Yes, saw that in a different thread, but it seems lescanadiens is specifically looking for someone with the PF X (as well as the AK100).
