That looks fantastic! I may have another piece of equipment coming soon to add to my stack of gear.. I think I have sorted out a source for it (the clue is there!)

in the meantime YoYo Ma's album, Silk Road Journeys has been intoxicating me, especially this track, Legend of the Herlen.. It sounds incredible through the PF's and TU-05!

Oh my goodness, this looks sick, reminds me of some Bond gear cases except you kill ppl with bricks and cables XD

Did you build it by yourself? I wish I could have one sick looking case like yours :P

Can anyone re-link me (or mind comparing) both PF IX and also PF VIII? I'm wondering if the heftier price is worth investing to my ears or not.

Thanks!

I built it myself only in the sense that I punched out the foam to conform to my equipment. An exercise in patience if you're a perfectionist like me. You can pick one of these guys up for a good price. Small price considering the value it protects.

The gold and chrome copper are the same, just a different finish on the outside.

Hi R,

Thanks for the clarification.
What do you think of the PF X line compared to the kaede?

Tried mt HVI out on the plane to Vegas. Sat over-wing, so a pretty noisy area. Isolation wasn't bad, and I had no problems with distracting noise at listening volume. A very solid airplane IEM, I was quite surprised.

Another surprising factor was that despite the noisy ambiance, bass impact did not suffer like when on a subway or bus.

The Heaven VI is so very agile and adept. Further, the sound signature HAS absolutely changed over time. I can't believe it. The sometimes-hot upper midrange harshness has smoothed considerably. It is something I have monitored closely.

I've been enjoying these lately. Very distinctive sound signature, extremely clean and airy, with great coloration on the high frequencies.

I don't think these serve well as your main rig, but it gives you a special mood (which is hard to describe) that is not able to be achieved on any other IEMs I've heard so far.

BTW, I'm pairing these with the SONY PHA-1s, which is IMO a great DAC/AMP for apple products. It's very intimate sounding and gives the music a glorious golden coloration which makes all my earphones sound prettier than they would be with some other DAPs.

Which one do you prefer more. This or the PF X?

It depends, I enjoy the PF X more with some certain genres it's particularly good at. I mean, they are on the two ends of sound signature, vastly different from each other, really hard to say, both very distinctive in their own way, like nothing I've heard before.

Thanks for the reply.
You might want to check on the ocharaku flat 4 maple as well. It gives me this certain feeling / mood that I don't get with my other iems.
