Regarding his comment #4, contrary to the SS, the Heaven A/C/S still seem to vent (a bit) through the strain reliefs, even if you block the rear vents. Therefore blocking the rear vents affects them less than the SS. jm2c.

I'll let him know. He also said he found why they are the way the are, will go more in-depth for the Heaven C and SA. 

 

Also, I think he meant to refer to you for the loan but said joker instead, he'll fix that. He's been having to learn so many names recently...lol.

Fascinating, I think this is another reason to take into account everything rather than just assuming that something that measures right is right when it comes to musical enjoyment. I am looking forward to reading his thoughts on the other models.

I would love for him to do the piano fortes as I have a feeling the measurements would be even more outlandish.. Though I am not volunteering my pair as I can't bare to part with them!

I think I read about a revised Heaven SB being released (or in the works).. is there any truth to this.. and if so, anyone have some news on it?

I think that maybe it's the Heaven VI being referred to... it's the likely replacement for the SB. My assumption is that once the Heaven II comes out, the Heaven C will also be phased out. The SS is said not to have a replacement, but is nevertheless not in production anymore.

Not too sure about that, havent got any news regarding newest model compare with the Heaven VI.

i don't think so, so far this is their flagship of the earphone, i believe they are targeting more on lower end model of Headphone and earphone instead of changing their high ends.

Final isn't necessarily adverse to changing their high-end products. The FI-DC1601 was their former flagship just a few years ago when they introduced the 1602s to phase them out gradually. So it's not out of the question. However part of the reason for the 1601 being so short lived was complaints over the detachable metal eartips coming off in people's ears (hence one of the reasons for the 1602 eartips being fixed).

Having a good Piano Forte evening. (I wasn't in the mood for a few days there.) I am listening to - of all things - the Boyz II Men Motown tribute courtesy of an ex. Don't knock it until you have heard it. They can sing.

 

My Foobar > UD100 + Stepdance rig is continues to do a lovely job with the PF IX..

Ahh, I forgot the retina burning blue light on the wonderful Stepdance!

I too had a couple of days away from music this week, had a bit of a cold and I never am in the mood to listen when I have one of those!

However, what I have been listening to and oh boy it suites the PF's down to the ground is a mix of English folky ( Nick Drake) and what I term organic rock, like CSNY, Neil Young and Buffalo Springfield. Greendale sounds wonderful through these.

Another artist that I truly am rediscovering thanks to the PF's is Tom Waits. His voice is made for these earphones!


If you get chance, and your a real Nick Drake nut like me then get Family Tree, it is a CD of basically bedroom tapes of early stuff before he started recording, his Mom also sings on it. It is raw but that rawness is its master stroke and through the PF's you feel like your in his bedroom as he sings!
