One of my favorite science fiction author passed today.

Indeed.  Died at 91.  Like most artist, which I highly consider him as one from a literary point of view, he's forever immortalized with each word in his works.

I loved that interview.  I too share great admiration for Steinbeck.

Yeah.  I would leave any jokes about a person who died to one self, regardless how funny, or how ironic it may be in relation to the dead person's life work.   It would be disrespectful.

Yep, I saw this on a few forums that I track but never saw it on any news service or heard anyone else talk about it.  Big fan of the books...
