I heard talks about a winter or fall one at the meet up, haven't heard much since that though as that's still pretty far away

It might happen in Nj or queens   sometime around november is the usual date for the fall meet.

How have you been enjoying your DX100 since the latest firmware? I've been interested to take a losten at the next meet again. I heard it for 5 minutes at the meet and I am almost ready to buy it (by almost I mean I am still raising the funds and still waiting on another portable setup to see how it compares)

I hear the advances in the software are great and that the sound quality has also improved. Let me know if you ever update the firmware. I loved how it sounded with my Aurisonics AS-2's on Low-Gain, and that was without any of my own music on the device. It seems ridiculous how great it sounded, and I think since then I've definitely become more adept at understanding the intricacies of sound and have tuned my ears to be extremely more sensitive to input (sound). It's been lots of fun and crazy to think how much I know I have changed. Please bring it to the next meet, I wanna bring my own music and get a proper listen to the device before I buy one.

tom, has there been any improvement in the ergonomics?  i know that the sound was great, but the user interface left a lot to be desired?

I will let you know once I upgrade the firmware after it is released.

Its just a couple ~75ohm resistors. Make one with a few alligator clips.

A little dog named experience once told me: Be EXTREMELY careful about what wire you use to rewire the ER4. Microphonics suck. I threw my downgrade cable away and returned to stock.

good point.............i'll do that this weekend.

as for cables, i find the stock cable virtually unusable except when i'm sitting in a plane, clipped on shirt and actively trying not to move my head..............i tried walking around Paris with it in June and it was really terrible..............hence my search for a better cable.  i've heard some say that the latest ety cables are better than the real old ones (which i have).

Have you tried looping the cable over your ear? I find this helps a lot.

not enough for me, when mobile, plus i'd rather not have to loop them if possible.

if westone cables are much less microphonic, why aren't ety?

partly 'cause the westone's cables loop over the ears!
