Hm. Bear in mind that's not a picture of my actual box. I don't remember what it said on mine...

i got mine from 1SaleADay, don't remember what the box said. I preferred my Monoprice cans, but my sister is loving them so no big deal to me if they are fake.

My 1saleaday Philips came in the same box as yours, Frozen.

My set came from 1SaleADay, has the MusicSeal text on the box, and also has the sealed-edge, non-removable earpads. (Too bad about that, because for pleather earpads, these ones are really nice. I wonder how they'd feel/sound on other headphones...)

I still don't think they're fake, but simply a production change on Philips' end. They're far from the first audio brand to do such a thing...*points to various discussions on what revision of a headphone is best, which is bass-light, which is bass-heavy, most likely involving an AKG or HiFiMan model, etc.*

I'm not nearly well-educated enough in the intricacies of IDing fake from real headphones, but if I got fakes then I got pretty darn good ones and I'm pleased enough to keep them. Once I can score another set for cheap I'll happily take to modding, too.

Mmm. New cable & pad options.  beyersmile.png

I really hope so that its just a production change in the box. Mine has the sealed-edge and non-removable earpads too. They look so good to be a fake though.

No, my Uptowns did not come with adapters. Just the phones themselves. I would be very surprised if they are fake; whoever went through the effort could make an honest living on their own merits, or should be faking higher end models for better profit. Faking a $60-70 (while on sale) pair of headphones wouldn't yield great profit margins, I would think.

These don't come with a 6.3mm adapter (I'm assuming that's what you guys are talking about) as far as I'm aware.

I see. Basically we have the same unit. Does your pair experience output imbalance? The left cup of my pair is noticeably louder than the right. I'm pretty sure its not my source because I tried it on 2 different setups. It's not my ears too because I switched it from L to R and R to L several times. I guess my pair will end up on ebay this month. :D

The inline remote causes channel imbalance. It has to be in the "sweet spot" and then not touched at all for it to behave...
