Here's a picture of my babies! Inner Female Geek.  Air+Galaxy S4+ Amperiors. Who would guess!

Is it just me or do the Amperiors roll off the highs a bit? A small reason I bought these was because people said they had sparkly highs which I felt was missing from my V-Moda M-80s. I didn't find sparkly highs in Amperiors either. I felt that from 14KHz and up, sensitivity began to fall rapidly and the sensitivity at 16KHz was much lower than at 14KHz. My M50s in comparison still had very good sensitivity at 16KHz and was pretty much strong throughout. I do enjoy the Amperiors for their overall clarity and excellent mids, but I would want better extended highs. Do any of you feel the same way about how the highs are not extended well enough? Or was it because I bought them refurbished and this was just a defect?

Amperior/HD25 roll-off the treble a bit.

If you want treble sparkle and more treble extension, I would suggest T50p instead.  Once you get the fit juuuust right, it rocks with better bass, treble, and isolation than HD25/Amperior.  Midrange balance is better on the latter, and T50p's soundstage is smaller but more precise and a little less upfront.

I have a question, i have some refurbished Amperiors but i kind of expected more. I'm not sure it is because i come from Grado's and the sound is so different. Amperiors sound more balanced, but a bit more tamed and less bright than the Grado's. I noticed in the Galaxy S4 adapt sound that left and right drivers behave differently. Because my purchased was refurbished, i'll like to know if my pair do sound as they have to or i have a defective unit. Is there any software than can measure and tell my specific headphones behavior? I'm running Mac OS X. Thanks.

Oh ok. Does it have something to do with the "Sennheiser Veil" I'm hearing about?

Thanks but I think I'm going to stick with my Amperiors. I really enjoy the iDevice control aspect of my Amperiors and the single sided detachable cord aspect of them that the T50ps don't have.

You will need some kind of measuring setup like what purrin, headroom, or innerfidelity have.  ph34r.gif  Yes, Amperiors should sound very different from Grados.  Grados are brighter in sound and more aggressive in sound attack and treble frequency response.  Grados should also sound much harsher if you have SR325.

Now if the headphone behaves funny with the Samsung phone, I've no idea about that.  Is it only with the Samsung phone?

I've never heard this "Sennheiser veil" that I've read about around here except on an underpowered HD600.

I have to disagree, to me the HD25 and Amperior are the only Senns that don't have the veil. The exception. They sound like closed Grados to me (the Amperior sounding even more aggressive to my ears than the HD25) and I haven't heard any roll off up top especially in comparison to other cans like the M-80 for example, which to me that headphone only exhibits a slight roll off. If they do roll off then something like the TMA-1 can't just be dark, must be nonexistant lol. Anyway just my 2 cents.

I have a HD25 .It sounds like the Sr80 ,but closed version .But the comfortable degree sucks ...could someone told me how to make it comfortable? it's too tight for me .

I managed to score a pair of Amperiors from a local Australian retailer for $160! Bit of a crazy clearance price.

Pretty stoked about them. Not a night and day difference from the HD25 but they sound cleaner and I like the changes they made for portable use.

Now I just have to wait and see what the Aluminium Edition is like!

JB hifi at World Square I presume?

I'm wanting to hear the HD 26 Pro lol. I've read somewhere that they single handedly defeat the DT1350s smily_headphones1.gif

Nope. It went completely out of stock online and I thought there were no more units, and then I get a call from a friend who found two in Campbeltown!

yea I can't believe I missed out entirely on that sale lol. 20% off all headphones doesn't come everyday! How do you find the soundstaging of the Amperiors?

About the same as the HD25. Not the widest soundstage out there, but because it is cleaner than the HD25 everything is a bit better defined.

I think you are in a queue behind two other people if I get the Alu Ed. and decide it's better than the Amperior haha. But okay I'll keep ya in mind. $270 for the Momentums is incredible - I got mine for $330!
