My time was spent with the LCD-3, HE-6 when using LG. Mjolnir is absolutely on par with LG using LCD-3.

And HE-6 not so much.

While I didn't hear Mjolnir with the LCD 3 I did hear it with other orthos and I don't think it was even close. Might have to pass judgement after hearing them all with the LCD 3 in March I suppose.

I've only heard them with SS amps no tubes.  

 

Note: The GS-X MKII is not out yet.. 

 

IMO:

(Mjolnir = BHA-1)  These two are great with the LCDs a toss up for me..

4 channel B22

GS-1

Balanced M^3

Balanced CK²III 

Emotiva a-100 miniX (not so good with volume play)

Burson 160D

Preproman, make sure to post your impressions of the gs-x mkii/lcd3 versus mjolnir/lcd3, was going to listen to the gs-x's at the meet but didn't get time. People were raving about it though.

just for preproman = LAu rocks with the LCD3 ;-) . My go to amp is still the Liquid Glass though, just wonderful synergy..dB

Does the liquid glass brighten up the LCD3s like the mjolnir does? Or does that totally depend on the tubes you roll? Very interested to hear more about this amp.

It really depends on the tubes you roll. The sound changes so much with different tubes. 

 

Coin Base RCA 6SN7s were my favorites with the HD800 and HE6. I could see them working well with LCD Xs as well.

Hmmm I guess the liquid glass could in a way save money too, more versatile, good amp for more headphones than the mjolnir. I don't know anything about tubes, what tubes are the most transparent and detailed in general?
