I am beyond ecstatic. I need to know how these compare to the jvc ha-fxt90 and jvc ha-fx700.

Also, does anyone know if the fxt will be out with remote and mic?

Thanks in advance  =)

Can anyone comment on the JVC FRD80's (FXD80 with mic) mic quality? I initially bought the CKM500IS because it sounded pretty good and it comes with a mic but it turns out that the mic was really bad. Now looking at the FRD80.

I hadn't used my fxd80s for a while, so today when I picked em' up, I was pleasantly surprised. Didn't remember em' sounding as good as they did smily_headphones1.gif, really don't know why, good none the less smily_headphones1.gif. It could be that I got a really good seal today, isolated better than I remembered as well. (With foam pads from ebay smily_headphones1.gif).

Since you have your bass and treble knobs all the way down you might as well deselect the tone function. It will probably sound better that way.

Well folks, first post but I've been lurking here for quite a while (quite a number of dollars as well). Just wanted to say that I realized I read 103 pages worth on these JVCs over the course of the past few days, ordered a set (80s) around page 70, and am eagerly awaiting them as an alternative to my beloved EPH-100s. Felt like now was the time to make a freakin' account. Was happy to see comparisons to the EPHs here, as well as to the FX-700s, which I've been lusting after (wood! open!) but am less convinced I need (bassy!). My last impulse buy didn't pan out so well (EB-50), so here's hopin' on these JVCs. Thanks, folks, for denting my bank account... tongue.gif

Hey welcome to the forum and you know how that old saying goes..........................tongue.gif I have been talking to another head-fier that had sold and just repurchased these FXD80s and he can't stop praising them. Which makes me really want to try them out as well, but i am more than happy with my new CKN70s. So if you got the FXD80s man, i think you are good regarding the bass department and soundstage etc. Hope you like them. beerchug.gif

I think I need foam tips for fxd80. Stock small tips are comfortable, but sound isn't good. Medium size sound excellent but they hurt my ears (a little big for my ears). Any advice?

Maybe you should try to wear them upside down and behind the ears, this gives you a better/ deeper insertion and much better comfort. The stock tips seems to sound the best with these FXD line. I have tried other tips but eventually went back to the stock ones.

Stock tips provide the best sound on them.
