Hey kiteki, sounded good on my 70's (and whoa - that Christina Grimmie has a bit of talent!), but that ain't gonna help you out much. What are you trying to work out?

Trying to work out what I'm missing out on in the FXD70's, how special or not special they are, etc.

So, I found this...

This is the JVC FXD80 versus the Yamaha EPH-100.

If you look at the first column, the JVC is more 'pulled to the left', it's simply 'tighter' looking in every impulse.

In the second column, same story there.

In the third column, in the first four rows the JVC has 'more waves'!, in the fifth, six and seventh not sure what is happening.  In the eighth, ninth and tenth the JVC is once again 'pulled to the left' with cleaner waves.

My take on this is the JVC has higher definition, which you could also call resolution.  They weren't joking with that "MicroHD" sticker huh!

The JVC FXD80 are really nice, they are my favourite JVC iem

The FXD80 were unique/favoured and I think ignorance is bliss, I almost wished I had not heard the new JVCs as they have spoilt the FXD80 for me.

The FXD80 were unique/favoured and I think ignorance is bliss, I almost wished I had not heard the new JVCs as they have spoilt the FXD80 for me.

Are there any biflange tips for the fxd80? The single flange dont have enough isolation for me.

Nope just like all things under the sun, it's MADE IN CHINA. :( But probably designed in Jpn, though. :)

hahahaha, that's ok, actually all Sony ´phones are made in Thailand right?, with the exception on the high end, I soupose that the fx700/500 are made in Japan though.
