Sure looks like the aristaeus design with a differential amplifier input and 6l6 for the output tubes.

Same as the bate. Capacitor coupled in the middle.

Output sure looks to be DC coupled because of the tube bias settings on the side.

Nice job for the price. And cheap available tubes.

The good thing is that the midrange doesn't get all wierd and shouty when I crank up the volume, which I have found to be the case with 007/other amp combos. It's got some of that EC sound with the micro dynamic contrasts. Definitely worth checking out with the 009s or Lambdas. Otherwise it's really hard for me to say because he's running a different source, a Sony SACD player which I haven't heard before. There's a part of me that really wants to haul down the PWD.

At T.H.E. Show on the last day, Craig didn't have an O2.  Wish I had brought my O2 to try on the Electra.  SR009 did sound quite nice on the Electra, but I would think the Sony 5400ES SACD/CDP's sonic signature would not get along too well with SR009 sound, and indeed when volume was turned UP, there were traces of hardness and brightness.  Then again, I've heard same type of volume-related sounds with SR009 driven by BHSE, so who knows.  But up to that rather high volume level, SR009/Electra combo certainly had the right purity, microdynamic life, and clarity only heard form top-class 'stat, and I'm sure one can tweak the tubes and cables to one's preferences quite well.

If I am to ever purchase another headphone the Stax 009 is officially on the save up forever to buy list.

009 would be a nice compliment to your TH900.

Very curious as to how it compares to my HeadAmp KGSS. I also have a morbid curiosity for how it would handle the H2+...

experience on 6L6.  what is the difference in sound signature?  which one should be best for

SR009 or O2mkI?

I'll get back to you in a year on that one. Especially considering there are at least 5 different

physical versions of 6L6. Pretty sure that the guy in israel is running fatboys which are 6L6

in his BHSE. One is a beam power tetrode with an internal G3 which makes it very similar

to the pentode in these circuits as both are wired as triodes. There is probably a 5 volt

bias difference between the 2, so i generally don't recommend using 6L6 in the BSHE.

For craigs amp, there should be plenty of bias adjust range to take care of the differences.
