At first they sold for $999 too, was a while before you could get them for less.

I think the best opportunity for a discount on these before next year would be a retailer that has a percentage off any item, like Best Buy or Buy.com around the holidays.  Worldwide Stereo ( www.wwstereo.com ), sometimes offers 10% off and carries high end brands like Denon.  Right before the holidays last year, they even offered 20% off.  Crutchfield may have a holiday sale as well.

Yeah, or Moon audio when they do their coupon thing for 10% off.

Yikes--at full retail!

Hope they're great--or are you thinking try and return?

It's through JR though, not Amazon fulfilled.

A return may be difficult.

Im sure they are great , at least from The initial review

That's a $1200 pill that's tough to swallow at this stage of the game. Oh, but wait! That does include free shipping.

Sometimes it's tough to take one for the team. Thanks for putting up your money at the bar.

I really think it will be a good headphone, but won't put my money down just yet.

If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return it for exchange or refund (excluding shipping and handling charges) within 30 days, subject to a Return Authorization from J&R (see exceptions above). Keep your purchase, accessories and all packing materials in new condition to avoid any restocking fees.

The AH-D600 is also available from JR.  This is very tempting and really throwing off my plan to try the M-100 first since I thought they would be out first.  JR does not accept returns on in-ears, but no mention of an exclusion for on or over ears.  Hmmm............

How great is it when she is talking about the cables and says, "or make your own". Gotta love a company that understands the head-fi market. Now hopefully the headphones live up to expectations.

Heh. I've found a lot of supposedly "great" headphones to be sorely lacking. So far Tyll's been silent about them, and that doesn't bode well.

First JR, now B&H has the Music Maniac line in stock, so it looks like those are launching first.
