Mid-Michigan Meetup Aug 18, 2012 (Saginaw, Midland, Mt Pleasant and surrounding areas)

Well, after an interest check, we're going to do a Mid Michigan Meet on August 18th from 9AM-3pm? ish....you know how these things are.  This was originally started in http://www.head-fi.org/t/575393/is-there-anyone-from-michigan-aroud-saginaw-lansing and now has an "official" thread by me, the host  tongue_smile.gif.  Our location is a church hall in Wheeler Mi.  Its about 30 minutes west of Saginaw, or 1hr north of Lansing.  I'll post address up later.  Please note, this location is a church hall; so please, no alcohol or "restricted" substances.  Also, power is pretty available, but kinda distant in places, so bring appropriate extension cords or power strips for your equipment.  We've got access to a kitchen, but I thought maybe ordering pizza would be easiest, so bring a few bucks to chip in.  Well, now that all that is said....

So far we have the following people committed to attending:

Me (hdufour) +1

theHof

wdahm519

CashNotCredit +1

MrTie84

Possibly coming?

Chromako

TK277

I'll update as we get closer to the date.  Also, if you plan on attending it would be great to get an idea of what you're planning on bringing.

See you there!

Edit:  Address is

Wheeler Free Methodist Church

8121 N Wheeler Rd

Wheeler, MI  48662

There is no "real" wifi at the church yet....its on my list of hopes and dreams, but not yet.  HOWEVER:  I can bring a router so we have a LAN but will not have internet access so you can bring your Squeezebox and other wifi goodies....

That's fine.  If there's LAN I can probably hook up with ethernet.  That should be fine.

Interested! I'm not going to commit (it's too early for me to do so), but I'm definitely going to subscribe!

'tis a long way from Ann Arbor, though.... popcorn.gif

Hey, I grew up in Ann Arbor.  You should still come, the drive will be worth it.

Ann Arbor really isn't THAT far away....2.5 hours or so tongue_smile.gif  Really easy to get to location - US23 north to I-75 to M-46 west (near Saginaw).  I've done the reverse trip many times, its really not all that bad...looking forward to seeing you there!

First posts updated with attendance & equipment....

Good/bad news everybody.

My cousin's iBuds broke, so I gave her my Meelectronics M6 set. Think of it as a recruitment tool. xD

I'm going to try to acquire a set of Jaycar Pro Monitor Headphones (same exact headphone as the Fischer FA-003 and Brainwavz M5, half the price. Crazy, huh?). If I get any early money from my GraduBirthday, I'll be sure to invest in more equipment, which I will, of course, bring to the meet.

Lastly, I'm 15, so I'd need to have my dad come with me. I don't know if this would be an issue. I hope it isn't, but if it is, I understand.

Thanks,

Will
