The PL50 is comfortable but very fragile. Not recommended for lying down.

Alright I'm about to buy JVC HA-FX40 or Phillips SHE3580. Which one is more comfortable lying sideways?

 

How likely is it that there will be fake SH3580s on ebay?

The SH3580 is a $15 IEM to begin with.  You can get it from Amazon and be sure they're real.
