Dallas, TX - "Beat the heat" mini-meet - Sunday, June 24th

Howdy can fans! The Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex is heating up and it is time for a contingency plan. I propose a Head-Fi mini-meet on Sunday, June 24th from 11am to 6pm. Should have room for about 12-15 people.

The meetup will be held in a reserved community room near Northwest Highway and Preston Road in Dallas. Drinks and snacks will be provided (by moi).

The space will accommodate up to four listening stations. We can swap out sources, amps, and gear as needed. The only thing you'll need to bring (aside from your gear) is a powerstrip if you have an extra one. Three should do it.

I will be bringing a pair of Grado SR-225i headphones (w/original bowls) and the Mapletree Ear+ HD special edition #250 (http://www.head-fi.org/t/552710/mad-ear-hd-special-edition-s-n-250). Tube is a Sylvania JHS blackplate 5751 (1950's manufacture) which pairs very well with this amp.

Allrighty then! Tired of waiting for the next D/FW meet? Wait no longer!

Do you mean May 27th?

And if the date works out,

I can bring a Schiit Bifrost / MAD Ear+ / Grado RS-1 (w/bowls) / Grado SR-225 (w/flats). I believe the tubes are stock in the MAD - never got around to rolling them. I also have a pair of Fostex TR50P that are sort-of mid-mod - can bring those too if anyone is interested.

Yeah, June 27th is a Wednesday. I'd be up for coming for a Sunday meet. I'd prefer it be longer if possible though, like 9-10 start time. Meets go really really fast.

If you meant May 27th, I would be unable to come. Too short of notice.

Corrected: Sunday, June 24th.

Hey man! Being your Schiit and c'mon out. Once upon a time I rolled some tubes through an earlier edition EAR and didn't hear much difference. The HD editions changed that. More transparent, or more experience? Who knows. I'll bring a handful to roll and you tell me!

Put me down. Gear list soon.

Damn! I will be in town the week after, from the 30th to July 2.

I'll be there with the gear in my sig

I will most likely make an appearance, but most of my gear has been sold. So some triple.fi and iBasso D2 and some good interconnects.

I'm going to try and be there but it looks pretty hopeless as of now. If I can make it I'll be coming with my LF and HD800s...Might sell the LCD 2 before then. Haven't decided yet. Oh and my Calyx 24/192 DAC.

I'll be there, with gear from sig as well.  Looking forward to meeting more local Head-Fi'ers.  Morbid & Maxvla, both of you need to get out here, dagnabit.  biggrin.gif

I'd really like to make it and talk it up with some people that didn't make it to the Austin meet. Mini-meets are a totally different beast.

Sounds good. If anything, I need to grab some more tubes for backups when they die. The amp itself is pretty old, and got a little damaged in shipping when I bought it from the previous owner. I fixed the shipment damage, but the headphone jack can be a little finicky at times. Sweet amp, though - especially with the RS1s.

Can I get the exact address of the place? I might be taking a mini vacation to see some friends and family in the area...and of course make this meet. Seeing how close it is to either house.
