FIIO E9 Cutting out

Hi ! my E9 is cutting out after about half volume the led turns red and it makes a "pop" sound

 

Just bought the flacs from hdtracks.com and then this just suddenly started happening

Try turning down the volume on your computer (in Amarra, iTunes, or whatever)... Does the problem go away?

 

I know the E9 can have problems handling higher voltage inputs, so it may be related to that.

My E9 used to have this exact problem. Turned out to be a power supply issue: my cord was kinked near the base where it goes into the transformer that plugs into the wall.

 

I straightened it out and I can now crank the volume all the way up again.

Ever find a fix? Mine keeps turning red when I barely turn it up. I've had it maybe 2 hours.
