Grado wood makers & sellers thread - Page 2

I'm looking to get a pair or two of wood cups for a mod project of mine, preferably I'd be interested in something similar to Cabillas cups both for shape and price.

If anyone can point me in the right direction where to get it from, or maybe some new wood cup makers in the market? I would consider getting the cups second hand as well. Thanks in advance.

I have dealt with MrHee, and he has been great to work with.  Just very helpful from start to finish.

Here are the headphones I have after the mods.

I'm the maker of the Headphone Lounge Vibro Classic cups. I'd be glad to field questions publicly as long as I'm not stepping on moderator's toes, or breaking any rules.

I think you are gonna be breaking rules you need to contact an admin to be made an MOT

I haven't heard back from a mod, so I won't go into details here. Regardless, I'm glad to see this thread. Cups are a joy to make and really elevate the class of the headphone. I'm glad the list is available for those who want to make the upgrade.

the offer a fantastic upgrade to the aesthetic appearance and do wonders for the SQ as well. Certainly a solid investment

I am still looking for someone who can offer me a 'Cabilla' style wood cups, so far no one has put their hand up. What I liked about the Cabilla cups was the resemblance to G1000 look while being a bit more leaner.

I can't answer you here willmax, so if that is something you desire I suggest contacting the known makers of wooden cups to try to find a solution.

Head-fi has pretty strict rules about people posting about their product. redface.gif

So I am making my first foray into modding/building Grados/Alessandro/Symphones, and am trying to stock up on parts for my first creation (which I have dubbed the FrankenGrado). It is to be an attempt at knocking off the HF-1

I seem to be running into trouble finding wooden inner sleeves for the plastic cups though...does anyone know of a possible source? I tried Martin, but he doesn't make them (too fiddlesome). I am waiting to see if Rhydon from Magnum does something like them...any other suggestions?

On a related note, I am battling to find drivers too. I am seriously considering cannibalizing a pair of iGrados to get a practice pair in my hands before getting some Symphones....anyone have a decent source they can recommend?
