While maybe not a "lover" of both since I now have headphones I like better than the current Beyer and Grado's that I own. I am still a huge fan of there sound and appreciate what they offer.
Nice club Focker!

Beyer & Grado, they complement each other

Nothing wrong with liking another headphone more...you're welcome anytime, my friend :)

Nice! One of the best ways to see if the Grado sound is for you is to start with the SR-60s....$79 will get you a headphone that has stood the test of time, is on Tyll's Wall of Fame headphone list, and offers a nice introduction to what Grados are all about. I'm on my 4th pair of Grados and my 3rd pair of Beyers, so I guess you could say I like these two lines of headphones lol.
But yeah, one of the nice things about Grado is that you can get one of their all-time best headphones for not a lot of money.
If you ever get a pair, I hope you'll let us know what you think - bad or good!
Are those Open? I'm not sure I should even ATTEMPT to try a Closed Grado Can... I love the Open Byers and I'm afraid a intro closed can would kill me Grado introduction :3, but maybe not... heard some nice Koss Pro DJ 200's... not bad for a Closed can. The point... if they are closed they might still work magic ;3. HEY any one wanna sell me a pair used :D
I so jelly :[. Currently Saving for a Bravo Tube amp so no extra cash for some Sr-60's >.>
(the q701s I got as well didn't sound any better to me)Didn't notice this post until now, but I guess I can consider myself a member
I own a DT880 600, recently got the T1 , and also own a 325is, love them all, especially the last 2. The T1 will probably lead me to sell the DT880, as the T1 are way better (even if a little harsh on bad recordings, which the DT880 aren't) in almost all.
Shall I say here that I alson own a Denon D5000
(the only can which can tame the worst recordings without any harshness I sometimes find)

Good to hear the T1 is better than the Dt 880, which it should be. In addition I've started WORKING :D so I'm getting my list of purchases together ;3
Starting with a Bravo v2 Tube Hybrid, then my first GRADO cans, which I want to try with a hybrid Tube :3. After that I'm planning on getting my self an Jds O2 Dac/Amp then Moving Onto my $500 JdsC421 AD8620 DT990 and Cowon DAP set to replace my Current Zune E11 set up [I'll be switching my cMoy for the E11]
But my main point is :D getting some Grados Soon! I'm thinking of the Sr-80 over the 60. As I was doing ALOT of research a few months ago, and well I choose the Dt 880 over the Grado Sr-80 so I may come back to the Sr-80 :3
^^^^^^
Sounds like some very exciting times on the horizon.

wooohoooo!!! thread activity!!!! haha
Exciting for mah ears, terrifying for my wallet and back e.e [I do landscaping q.q]
I KNOW RIGHT! Also
WHY ARE THERE NO LOW END GRADOS FOR SALE, seriously! There are like NONE in the Trade forum :[ it's all like $400+ grado 325+'s and what not :[
Keep a eye out, they seem to come and go in cycles in the FS/F. One time you look there are plenty and the next there are none.
Honestly for what they usually go for in the for-sale section here, your probably better off buying new and getting the warranty. There is no drastic savings on ~$100 headphones if you ask me to make me even consider buying used and giving up the warranty. IMO
Yep, I think it's because of what asmoday just said....I know with my SR80s, even though I WOULDN'T sell them, I really don't see the point anyway. In fact, I have a few pairs of phones that were less than $100, and I rarely use them but at the same time don't sell them either. Just seems like more of a hassle than it's worth. I also kind of like having several pairs around just in case I need something to let someone else use or whatever. It's interesting to see which ones others choose.
My AKG Q701s, on the other hand...I'll probably sell those fuggers pretty soon lol
By the way, I'm having some new gimbals/rodblocks sent from Martin Custom Audio for my Grado GS1ks and am in the process of sending my T1s off to Steve Eddy of Q Audio for recabling. Will post pics of the boys once they're both ready to go.
