HD800, T1 or LCD-2 on a small system - Page 4

This response would be great if it had anything to do with anything I said, which it doesn't lol. I don't remember asking you ANYTHING about build quality. I simply stated that I personally couldn't see how someone could hack on the T1 build. That's not a question. Nobody is falling victim to hyperbole and misconceptions. Any slight bit of research on the T1s will indicate that you are in a very small minority in your opinion of them. The fact that you even characterize this as if you're protecting the OP from becoming a "victim" is pretty lame. And lastly, I've made no attempt at discouraging "counter arguments and debate", especially since I wasn't attempting to engage anyone in those activities anyway lol. You're clearly just looking for an opportunity to go on and on with your crusade and you have to twist around what others say in order to justify it.

You're not following the context of what I'm saying. I clearly wasn't referring to the OP...I was referring to my view of the T1. I have not HEARD the 800s, but that doesn't add or detract from my ability to enjoy the T1s. Therefore, it's a moot point.

You seem to think my posts are somehow limited to a personal conversation with you.  This isn't your thread or personal topic.  Everything I said was in context to the topic of the thread and the 3-4 other Beyer advocates.  That's usually how these things work.  You could start a new one perhaps?

Here's what appears to be a very fair and detailed article about both the T1 and the HD800. It's a very good read and may be helpful to the OP.

Here's my thoughts on the T1s vs. HD800s from a few years back after I just got the HD800s back in early 2010):

Over the past few years, the HD800s have moved up the pecking order just over the T1s. Better amp/dac/sources over the years could have also contributed too. But that doesn't diminish the high esteem I hold the T1s. I still find them a better "one size fits all" headphone for different genres of music. The HD800s are one of the best technical achievements in sound for headphones I've heard (along with the LCD-3s). But the T1s are still great flagship headphones. I've had them along side the HE-6s for just over a year and guess what? I've STILL have the T1s as I preferred their openness and transparency.

Have you found that the LCD-3s are a significant improvement over the 2s?  As a lover of planar speakers (Magnepans), I want to try some planar headphones at some point and the Audez'es have always appealed to me. I was REALLY close to pulling the trigger on some 2s until I saw the package deal that Jan Meier had with the T1s and his gear (which he also has with the HD800s and Ultrasone Sig Pros in case anyone is interested). I'm always fascinated to hear what some of you guys who own or have extensive experience with several of the reference caliber phones have to say.

Here's a review I completely agree with..

How dare you show those primitive subjective comparisons!  Us highly evolved folk determine which sounds better before we even try them by looking at the raw scientific measurements.

Here are my thoughts between the LCD-2 and -3.

I always enjoy watching that guy's vids...I remember his unboxing of the T1s...he was so excited lol.

My favorite part of this video: "So if you own these (T1s), do you really need to own those (800s) too? Yeah, you do"  lol

And I know why you're T1s are probably sounding so amazing....you have Meier gear :)

Jan Meier is the man...I've really come to trust his advice in addition to loving his amp!
