For Sale:
FS: 3 month old HD-800 (SN: 149xx) $950

Will Ship To: United States

I'm selling my 3 month old HD-800s. SN is in the 149xx range. The reason I'm selling these fairly new headphones is because my doctor told me I need to stop listening to music with headphones. I know, really sad news. I've always had semi-hearing problems growing up, but my love of music always got the better of me. Going to too many concerts, listening to music way too loud. I'm not in danger, it's just the recommendation of my doctor to stop now, and I'm going to listen to his advice and instead, I'll be moving towards speakers to listen to music. (Don't worry for concerts I'll be using ear plugs now).

The reason I'm asking for $1,000 is because like an idiot, I paid $1,500 through headphone.com (so I paid retail). And seeing as they are only 3 months old, I'm taking a $500 + loss. On top of that Pay Pal takes a cut and then shipping will probably be $50 + (since I'll have to insure it for over $1000 and then tracking). So I expect I'll probably only really get $900 or around that.

I have to note that I put the Anaxilus mod on these: http://www.head-fi.org/t/577530/hd800-anaxilus-mod/135http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/diy-modification-sennheiser-hd-800-anaxilus-mod (if you are not familiar).

They are easy to take off if you don't want them, and won't do any damage to the headphones themselves. So maybe this will a plus or a negative to selling these.

But enough talk, let me know if you are interested.

For the record, I just wanted to thank those of you that sent kind PMs about my hearing. Yes, I know that irritation of the ears can be remedied by lowering the volume and getting a good mix. I'm not selling these solely on my Doctors suggestion. There is more to it then that.

The HD-800s sound signature (even when I listen low) don't mix well with my sensitive ears. So this + the fact that I think it's time I take better care of my hearing, is the real reason I'm selling these. All this said, I'm not going to swear off headphones as an option all together. I still have some pairs I will use. Just as a hobby, I'm not going to be spending that much money anymore, and will instead focus on building a really great home entertainment system to enjoy my music. So I will still post here. :)

Thanks again to the PMs, you guys are really caring and great. :)
