GA costs money though!!!

Yeah it does have a healing class. It is a optionally paid game but the game is very balanced. There are no super guns. Just people that have been playing for a while and know what to do. You will meet that one guy Level something with good skills but they rarely use paid equipment. And getting points to spend on weapons is VERY good. One match gets you about 130(minimum) to 250 GP(the free game currency) and pimping out your main weapon is only 370GP to 500GP at most. That's 5 matches. Barely anything.

I have over9K GP and I barely play! :) Very good balanced game play and it's fun not to mention has THE BEST GRAPHICS of a free online fps I have ever played.

Anyways stuff should be here at worse by like Next Monday, my bank account reported that the memo for my first order was released. Sadly though the bank it self won't actually release it, freeing my funds until tonight it seems...

So in 104 mins [wow same time as yesterday] I'll check my account and see if the funds are free, then try to purchase this order again... if I can't then I've got Till Friday to Call me bank again in combination with the "ATM" department at my bank so get this order Verified...

*snip*

@HybridCore of OCN

don't worry I've been on stock for all of High school, so I'm sure by the time your get to your Senior Grad you'll be upgrading along with me :3, but sadly the system you build will cost the same as mine and have at least 2x specs >.> that's technology for you, although the irony though is as perf advances so do games... meaning in theory we'll still have simmilar rigs... of course in praticality yours is better but you'll be playing current Gen games [like I will] and you'll run at teh same level as I will [MAX]

So in one perspective it's depressing to buy a rig that will be out dated in what 18months or so? But on the other perspective all things are realitive... 10 years ago some kid spent $900 to play AoE 2 Conqeors Expansion on full gfx settings and in the Highest Res they had back then [which proably was like 1920x1080 or close]

Either way, your time will come Hybrid... and when it does... you'll make the hard core rig builders crap their pants!

Haha. smile.gif Starting to think we should make another mega-thread for computers for Head-Fi.

I hate how slow the system is sometimes. It's annoying to make cancellations.

Stock is painful. I only have 3GB of RAM anyways. Some light photoshopping brings my RAM usage up to 90% capacity. Makes me want to flip some tables.

(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Haha. Nice prediction. Anyways, thanks for the compliments. Hope your first build goes well.

I work a lot and blow through money like an idiot, dropped $50 into freaking El Sword, which I played for all of 6 weeks so, GA is free but it sux free [chances are if I start working and really get into it I'll buy u an I an account for the heck of it]

and BlackLight Retribution sounds pretty cool! Good gfx are nice to know, gives me something to test out my GPU/Cpu combo. Healing is good, as well as balance. Personally in Exteel we had Mech's so we built them differently depending on what we needed to do

You had a number of stats you needed to balance out according do what you where doing, so the gfx were UnReal 2, the aim system was easy peasy but what made it great was Building your mech, and of course mastering those advance techniques that increase your dps,

So I like customization and LOTS of it, the more options I have [for a healer] the better

Yea I'm running right now a simmilar system to yours, 3.5gbs of Ram, Pent 4 3.04ghz, stock fans and stock everything elese <.< Fire Fox used to KILL my Ram, thankfully Chrome does not, and yea Photoshop makes me LAG

The build will go fine, I'm sure... just so long as I can pay for the darn thing

Pentium 4. O.O

I did try a rig with a Pentium 4 and Windows XP. It was decent enough to use for web browsing, even though it was bloated with Chinese software like the 365 Safe Browser that's popular in China for some reason and QQ (I believe it's like Skype or an IM).

Anyways, I need to go to bed. I made decent progress on the bridge research.

BlackLight Retribution

WHOA, it's got something to do with Perfect World... nice a friend of mine played that and she RAVED about the gfx [I of course couldn't play for that very reason] seems cool watching vids on it now

what are you running btw Bowei?

Just sort of wrapped up my research over at my thread in OCN. I have a general idea of what to do.

One last note before I go to bed, this is sort of becoming a chatroom but for computers. tongue.gif Very closely resembles something.

Okay, one more thing (I lied about one last note earlier), plenty of people said I looked like an Asian version of Spock (the guy from Star Trek). Made my day, but I think I'll get my next haircut like Bruce Lee.

Good night.

Good night.

Indeed, and we need this to be the new PC chatroom, built by gamers for gamers on a budget xD

Meh... not a fan of Black Light... I don't really like the Blood an Gore aspects of the popular Shooters, and I enjoy 3'd person.

I was happy to watch Videos of Global Agenda and Bowei it's Free to Play now, granted if you pay the one time $20 fee [which you know I will be] it's a whole lot better, but still for FREE it's all the content... you just don't level as fast. So GA I'm playing Black Light maybe not so much, still enjoy it Bowei :3

.

But GA is rated T [YAY] and it has humor, plus GA is sited to have RPG elements which means there Healer class is going to be pretty solid ^^ so this is definetly on my list,

FINALLY ODER VALIDATED, the payment was accepted, so it'll be processing once more then it's time to be SHIPPED, uhh man I'm tired of dealing with all this mess xD finally glad it's OVER

If you want to crossfire in the future you would need a more powerful and bigger PSU with a mass of cables. That wouldn't be good as it's too expensive and won't be modular so the cables will be everywhere

Yea I won't be doing SLI or CX, I looked at the stats of the 6970 and under load it runs like 87c... <.< the 560 ti also handles lower res better than the 6950 where as the 6950 handles high res better, and at 1920x1080 the 6950 and 560ti exchange blows, now the 6970 it better than the 560 ti pretty  much hands down

So my question is, when I go to OC my 6950 to 6970 speeds [which is 5.5 ghz <.< .5Ghz higer than stock] what can we do to keep it cool, the load wattage on the 6950 is lower than the 560 ti, so we've got some room work. But what kinds of fan configs should I be looking at to cool our monster? [In addition I have a feeling the temp readings where for the single fan card, our dual fan card with proper fan set ups should run cooler]

Still, let's work with getting our fans set up to keep that GPU cool, I won't be OC my cpu for a while as it's not unlocked

Good idea? Put the Sink in a push and pull config or add it to the case?

Add it to the heatsink to get low temperatures, improve life, feel like a Bad arse and what not.

Could we work something like that for the Gpu? A push Pull config

Gpu Temps.jpg

I also looked at the 6990, and the GTX 590... sadly the 590 did considerably better than the 6990.

Blue bar is Temps for 6950

Black bar is temps for 6970

Do you think a 600w PSU is enough to OC the Gpu... we've got a Rockfish 700w psu, I read a review for it and it works fine, it has more noise and ripple levels than the reviwers where comfortable with and they where able to over load it without it burning up... so it's good psu. Review said it's not worth the $165 Best Buy charges you but I would at most pay like $60 bucks and I might even just give him my 600w since it's a nicer psu.

Seeing a there was a Cool Master 750w PSU mentioned in the review, Cool Master can't that bad but... Bowei claims that the OZC is a better brand than Cool Master and apprently Cool master is a better Brand than Rocket Fish... that being said it might be best in all honesty to keep mine.

Looking at GPus that expensive wont do much good smily_headphones1.gif

Yeah you can help temps. Regularly maintencing and taking it apart every half year like me.

From what I see you need many fans. You would first need to take the 140cm fan and flip it so that it pushes air in. Next like hybrid wanted to say you nee to put a fan on top of the dvd drive or block that space off. Then you would need to fill up the two side fans on the case in a push air into case config.

Whats the problem? You dont have enoughfan connectors. Most dont and tieing it into psu is a bit tricky and dangerous. Molex fans might do though but is more cable management. Next your exhaust fan. You cant not use it as it would be worse and that eould be your only way to exhaust air. So really the closed system hybrid detailed would not be possible or cost effective for your setup.

Whats the most cost effective way:

Leave all your fans as is. Exhaust fan pushing out ans 140mm pushing out into the enviroment and front fan pushing in. Then you get two 120cm fans forthe side and have that push in.

And then get a pci slit cooler to push air out.

That would cost a total of $26 for those 3 parts. And also remember to clean dust and what not regularly.

There are parts to exhange fans on the GPU or the whole heatsink itself but that would void warranty. Something you Dont want to do.

Keep in mind that these cards are designed to OC. You dont have to be so scared. Just get two extra side fans and a pci cooler and that will be enough and be most cost effective. The case loop air flow euhemes guide isnt very practical for most systems. Especially a budget one that worries about reliability and perormance as opposed to science based cooling. Which is something you have to design Your parts AROUND to work effectively and cost effectively.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835192026&Tpk=Titan_Adjustable_Dual_Fan_PCI_Slot_VGA_Cooler

Check that out, a dual fan PCI slot thing a ma jigger

for like $25, a single fan PCI slot fan is cheaper I'm sure, and that way I could buy the two exhaust fans as well. For now since I'm REALLY broke and there's... like $26 in my account... I'll leave that alone >.>

When and "if" I get the rebate from OZC, that $25 can go to buying fans.

The only concern I have is that it's summer time... and it get's hot here in SC <.< granted I've got a fan that runs in my room when I'm there and my PCU will be off the ground and 6 inches from the walls [in a corner] I'm confident it'll get good air flow, but of course more fans would be even better and less worry for me

Also I read the review for the OZC 600W, review was great both places [Hard Ware Secrect and OverClocking Club] loved it, it was noted though that it you EVEN THINK about pulling over 600w from it... it will shut down. They got a total of 600.4w xD b4 the PSU turned off, and from the other PSU reviews I read a good number of them let you Over Load them.

So I guess that's a good thing, and yea we've got enough power with 600w to power everything right :3 won't need to worry about it shutting off on me

So I've got all my worries taken care of,

I've got the system ordered, we know the Card is made for OC which when I feel I need to I'll OC, we looked at buying more fans and decided that side case fans would be sufficent, and a PCI slot fan would also be good [which sounds cool btw]

And my step dad is feeling better. The only issue is when it ships, memorial day is Monday so if it comes in Friday that would be nice BUT I'm going out of town Friday so I would have to wait till Sunday to put it together. An I might be out of town some more Sunday too, meaning I would have my system back home Next Monday or Tuesday most likely.

Nothing there really that I didn't already get. True $5 saings on PSU, but other than that nothing really.

Oh there's is this that I kinda need to buy >.>

This is my audio file related pc purchase as I need a Micro SD card reader for the D3 im buying [grad party is paying for that <.< don't tell mom xD]

You bought it already? Nice then smily_headphones1.gif

The 6950 wants a minimum psu of 500W. That was made with usually an 125W old AMD processor in mond. Yours is 77W last I checked. Your fans wont take much power so you are fine.

And believe it or not. You dont need to go crazy. These things tame heat like no tomorrow.

Word of advice. Only buy things that have feedback. This wont always apply if you know i somewhere else but just dont. Experience has taught me.
Something like that looks great... One problem. With all the fans you will be putting in. You usually wont have much connectors to connect that. There might be a molex connector that will turn into 3 pin slots but im not sure.
The 140cm fan if I remember is molex.

The front and back should be 3 pin. Thats two. Add in cou cooler andyhats three. Most mobos have 5 in total and that cooler will use up the rest.(if you have 5) Is that bad? Not really. The case has adaquate fans RIGHT next to the not overclocked efficent Ivy Bridge. So using up the rest for GPU cooling wont be bad but then theres the question on how effective and looks. Will that fan setup be productive or counter productive to temps. The cables will also be stretched to different fan connectors and wont look good. Ill look into how this will work when I get home.
