Hi,

I can see this now his profile said currently online.

I lost all my headphones with this fool , just orderd some he-400 from a uk dealer so I am out of pocket at least £750.

It's a shame because its sort of ruined this fourm for me until this point really enjoyed being part of.

I was thinking of doing a trade with him a little while ago but then I saw his location, I would never send anything to eastern Europe. Another alarm bell was as soon as I put anything up for trade I would get an offer from him, he replied to three separate for trade classifieds, very sad that people like that are here now.

Forget everything - if you paid through Paypal, file a dispute. I haven't billed my credit card yet, so I'm ready to cancel the transaction there as well.

He can be online, whilst being banned - but he can't post, nor PM anyone, nor see his PMs

I don't do a lot of trading or buying...but when I browse the sales forum and I see something I like, I usually look at the feedback AND the join date of the seller.  I also look at some of his/her posts to get and idea of who I'm dealing with.

I've only conducted about 6 or so purchases in the 6+ years I've been a member of Head-Fi...no problems so far.  I don't think I would have traded with that dude because of where he lives and his short time as a member of this site.

I feel bad for the members who got scammed.  That guy deserves a good ass kicking....people like that usually get one (or more) sooner or later.

The fool is even using facebook, now I even have a pic of him (not a nice one either, half naked showing off his body... eww). Look up Rihards Linde on facebook, address provided match well with his birth location provided on FB too. His current town location on FB is slightly off (probably he's studying at that place as he's 19 only), probably it's his parents address or something where he ships stuff to where he was born, I wouldn't be suprised.

If you don't have facebook and just want the pics or whatever info it says on FB just drop a PM.

Not to be the bearer of bad news but being banned from head-fi doesn't really mean much as far as a scammer is concerned. If he really wanted to get back online all he has to do is log onto head-fi with a new account while using a different IP address. My guess is more then likely the guy will probably just lay low awhile and once the heat dies down he may decide to come back. Personally I'm not a huge fan of trades and like to do my online buying practices only with people who have some history on head-fi and a unblemished feedback record. If the OP wants his stuff back the only suggestion I have is contact the local law enforcement in the scammers city and see if you can get anywhere from there. A lot of the time it only takes one phone call from someone in authority asking questions and the scammer starts sending back his ill gotten goods in order to be left alone. Considering the scammer looks on the younger side maybe send a few letters politely explaining the situation to the scammers address addressed to a Mr. or Mrs. Linde. It's not far fetched considering the scammers youthful appearance he could still be living with his parents and they have no idea what they're wannabe hooligan son is up to.

Checked google street view for the address he provided so I know also how it looks like there now at the shipping address he provided. :p Funny how easily it's track people in this day and age. He's also an athletic and seems to do rather well in marathon (there's some sports related latvian pages where you can see his results etc) so it would probably be hard to chase him if you met him face to face.

RPG considering you're in the loop of possible victims I suggest you message the other people who have been scammed and compare address information in order to be absolutely sure he's not using false addresses. For example he could be using various friends as a go between or even a business address that someone he knows works at.

I tracked him on facebook using the name RPG provided very easily. I'm very tempted to post the profile link.

I think the best way is to ring the police in his area and see what they say, give them the address he provided, name, see what they can do.

Wonder if anyone got the same tracking number as me RS040604101LV...

What a pity.
Think of the desecration and inconvenience just one scammer has caused.
I would pay him a call.

We made a deal to trade my W4R for his MSPro plus cash and communication is excellent until I asked him to send me photos of his MSPro with his name written on a piece of paper. He told me that he doesn't have paypal account and want me to put a $50 on the package. He never replied and asked him if he still interested with the trade. I checked his feedback and previous transactions and found out that he received payment thru paypal that makes me think of.

All of this crap will backfire to him and one of the headphones he stole will cause him permanent loss of hearing!
