Not certain if I dropped them or if water got in the right channel, but I'm starting to realize how much I miss them. Hoping these little IEMs can fulfill my day to day stuff until I get some custom IEMs. Likely JA or UM. Both seem to review well - no chance of me auditioning them where I am. Oh well.
Well, the 161s price point/performance is adequate. Compared to the Shure SE530's? Underwhelming. The 161s perform in their price bracket, but IMHO don't have much of a soundstage at all. Then again, I'm lacking a good source at this point. Maybe I'll have more to say about them when I can drive them better.
I took a left turn somewhere since this last post. I'm entering the full size headphone scene, as I figure I don't use IEM's like they should. I think I will appreciate decent audio at home, and I don't think any IEM will ever get close to say Stax SR-009s. I got a fantastic deal on the Sen HD800's I just couldn't refuse. So I'm starting there. So now I'm just looking at a lot of choices for DAC/AMPs etc.
Gotta hand it to head-fi. The site has me hooked. Can't wait for the HD800's to show.
