Wanting to get started with some DIY amps

Thread Starter

I've been wanting to try a few DIY amps, but need a little bit of advice on where to start.  What are the essential tools and where is a good place to buy them?

I want to start out with something simple, but eventually want to build an amp for my HifiMan HE5-LEs.

Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction to get started.

This is a really good site too http://www.amb.org/audio/ I am in no way related to them. Also if you plan to design your own PCB, Circuit Wizard is a good program for starters, you can make custom parts and it has automatic placement and routing.
