VentureCraft Go-DAP DAC/Amp /Series: Go-DAP X (13th May 2012) and Go-DAP TT (21st May 2013) - Page 33

I found this on their website.

Up > Flat

Left > Warm

Right > Cool

Bottom > not sure but it looks like V shape or something

So Thomson and Silvania seem the be at the opposite end of chart.

How would you rate the overall build quality of Venturecraft products compared to other premium portable amps?

What would cause crackling, like the sound of listening to scratchy vinyl, with Iphone 4 and GoDAPX?

It is NOT wifi interference since that sound would be more static than crackling and I set on airplane mode, but still have the crackling.

It may or may not be the cable- I used the stock Apple cable with no interference, but the 30-pin to USB cable that came with Verza and another cheap OEM cable did produce crackling.  There is no crackling with the same tracks direct through Iphone 4.  Could a low quality cable cause crackling?

Also, regarding my Verza/GoDAP X, I can still listen through my Iphone 4 regardless if the left lever is set to Iamp or USB/DAC.  Is this normal or could this be an issue with the circuitry that is also causing the crackling?

Thank you in advance for your feedback.  I am trying to avoid sending one of my amps back to V-Moda yet again.

Build quality the VERZA and the SDT is pretty much the same, and your crackling issue I think is mostly due to that POS cable.  This was I opt to get the VC cable instead.  As for the setting you will be fine, in fact in USB-DAC mode for iDevices, you will be getting 150mW max power instead of 130mW.  I did noticed my M-100 sounded slightly better this why but not by much.

As an update, the crackling was ultimately caused by a defective Iphone 4 which has since been replaced and I am back in the zone of portable sonic bliss.

Good to know.   BTW are you going to get the 5S?  I am planning on it.

Well I really don't think it's SQ matter anymore as most of us here use a VC DAC/AMP already.

Since I just purchased a replacement Iphone 4 through Apple (only $149 with no contract), I may hold on to it for awhile, especially since I finally have Vamp working perfectly.

Assuming the 5S offers a 128GB version and fits the Iphone 5 Metallo case, I would seriously consider.

Anybody using Go Dap-X with M100? Seems like when I reach for X, I reach for M100 most of the time. Like the combo somehow

ALAC> IPC> Go-dap-X > Phone> like what I hear

I was going to, but you know the deal...beerchug.gif.

that is the socket. I was looking to sell the go dap -x since I was not using it

Like the amp/ DAC separate, do not ask me why

Doesn't my VERZA count?

Right now I used my Go-Dap X as my primary DAC for my PC. Go-Dap TT and Typhoon are with me during back and forth between home and work.

Verza? surebiggrin.gif That reminds me, I have a VAMP somewhere

I think I went with go dap x instead of Verza due to lower cost, I do like having spares. I need something that has a very long battery life

Because of this: "... activating the bass boost.  It requires holding the battery button down until the switch on the front blinks, then flipping said switch down and back up - to deactivate bass boost, follow the same process. ..." I'm wonder where to find non japanise manual to DAP X?

add: Well, I get the manual from Dmitriy, but dont see how attach it here
