It's supposedly a 7N Class OFC 0.12x7 (does this mean 7 strands?), with gold plated plugs. They're sold for Y14,800 (USD$181!!) but believe it or not, sold out in Japan. It's a nice looking cable, but wondering if it's considered as steep especially in comparison to what Toxic Cables, Double Helix Cables or even Qusp have to offer?

7 strands of Ø0.12mm class 7N OFC -thus high-purity 99.99999% oxygen-free copper- in that -small- cable. Looks too bling with the plating on the connectors. Regardless of price & efficiency, I'd go for something more discrete.

How do I purchase one? Their site throws a paypal error saying the vendor doesn't accept payments anymore. Weird...

I was wondering, can it drive something like Mad Dog orthos?  I'm planning to primarily use it with my COPs and M100 (if/when they are finally shipped), but sometimes I take my MadDogs with me as well.

Hmmm...IMHO, I have a feeling it may struggle. Let me try to borrow the Mad Dogs again but at least with the Go-DAP 4.0 I felt it didn't have enough grunt. And the Go-DAP X has pretty much similar specs. The VAmp OTOH has higher power output but even then I think it didn't cut it for the Mad Dogs.

Post brought over from the VAmp thread. So I did ask VentureCraft about the integrated case for the phone and the Go-DAP X. It was initially designed for the iPhone 4/S. It turns out there are no plans to make integrated cases 'cos with the prototypes they made it ended up being quite costly and therefore felt there wasn't going to be sufficient demand to meet the minimum requirements to make such an accessory. So they dropped plans to produce the cases. If the Go-DAP X takes off in masses, I'm sure some bright spark may make a case for it.

Aha, thanks for the update. Its a fair assessment actually. Unless they are willing to take the plunge as the first, which they are not.

Hi Anakchan

My Venturacraft go dap x just arrived yesterday evening .
Out the box pair with my Sennheiser Momentum SQ very good in detail
And clarity , but less bass impact compare to my Alo class solo .

Source : galaxy note II
Dac amp : go dap x
Iem : fit ear 334
Portable headphone : sennheiser Momentum

How can I know during I charge , that the go dap x already fully charge ?

Please advise

Hi Rudi, that's a nice setup and what a nice combination! I've got a question. It looks like you're using a long micro/micro cable. You didn't get the short micro/micro cable from VentureCraft?

 

Anyway, when it's fully charged, the light should turn green like this (note that the Go-DAP X is off) :-

Here's my travel combo: MBA 13", Go-DAP X, V-Moda M-100. Also have my TG!334 with me too.

I received my Go DAP X today....having mixed feelings about it at the moment. I need to clarify a few things.

 

I'm using my PC and Galaxy S3. The gain button doesn't seem to make any difference and I can not use the bass boost function. When I tried these with my friends iPhone 4, it seems to function as expected.

Also I assume the auto charging is limited to iDevices only. Please advise.

You were right about the Mad Dogs. They sound just about decent and the lack of power is evident.

I recently brought my Go-DAP X to a local Sennheiser meet and one guy borrowed it to try with the HD700. He says it pairs really well with it, unfortunately I wasn't able to try it myself...

No I do not have short micro to micro USB , because my friend help me to buy from Japan .

One more question :

If I pair to iPhone 4 G and 4 S , my go dap x does not lock automatically , I must try many times
Until my go dap x lock .

Is that true the position

At first toggle switch : to the top amp section

And the second toggle switch ): to the bottom amp section

Please advice

Hmmm...it should lock quickly. I don't have trouble with my 4S. One thing I noticed is that after the firmware upgrade, I don't even need to be in the iDevice mode for it to lock, it would even lock in USB DAC mode for the iPhone/iPad. But the other switch is in Amp mode. Make sure you're using a cable with good connection.

P.S. my devices are still on iOS 5.11
