DNA Stratus 2A3 amplifier - first impressions - Page 138

The RCA is fine for modern stuff with full bottom-end and smooth top-end. Also try the National Union JAN-CNU 5U4G which sounds similar to the RCA and is probably the same tube. A common structural trait is the two poles down the middle.

I can vouch for this seller currently selling the CNU.

. I didn't have it yet. I hope this amp will more focus on tones and texturing than my EC 2A3MKIV

Did NOS RCA are better for my taste than modern stuff ?
I forgot about the solid plate EML 2A3 which has even more bottom end than the Sophia's and Shuguang. For modern music, I would go EML solid plate over both. I'm assuming you are using Senn HD800 only.

Definitely hear the stock tubes first before deciding to upgrade. The Shuguang 2A3B is a very capable tube on the Stratus.

I have 2 pairs of EML Solid on my EC amp. I will test 1 pairs on the Stratus.

I'm using JPS Abyss and need the smoothest sound as possible to erase any rough issue.

Wow! You're in luck. You already have a full sounding 2A3. A rectifier like the JAN-CRC or JAN-CNU VT244 will help smooth out the sound even more.

Congrats on the Stratus. Definitely looking forward to impressions with the Abyss.
