To be frank, I am not entirely sure as I have heard neither. Based on reviews or the lack of them for the GS-X, I am tilted towards a tube flavor for HD800 which may sound a bit distant and unforgiving at times.

Main benefit I see is the ability to power HE-6's,  now that's just one headphone out of a thousands but the dam things have all us SET guys scratching our heads.

Daniel, is it possible you're remembering some of the Oracle gear I linked to a while back while discussing the Stratus?

Its great to see these responses from Donald, they reaffirm what we already know - that every aspect of the Stratus' design was thought out and tested with the target goals and price points in mind.

the stratus cant actually power the HE6 right?

Me? No.

Okay.  Only other thing I can think of is this, which he said he'd think about.  Obviously he has, and wants to keep it branded.  Personally, I see this amp as functional art, and as such it makes sense to be completely at the whims of the artiste.

Honestly I think I may have gotten it mixed up with a custom GSX(?) someone had done bright red-or maybe a BHSE? Either way-I agree about the artistry and branding aspects, and totally understand and respect that. I also wish that the DNA pics would capture the color better-I think most people using a flash are making it appear a much brighter blue than it actually is. This pic in the FS ad resembles what I hope it looks like in person...?:

Max said he opted for the red faceplate on the GS-X mk2.

Used Sonett I had was lighter than that.

I think the best description I've seen is that it had sort of a "Kandinsky Blue".  For reference:

No Para, it was a pic floating around of the entire amp being red-and I for the life of me kind remember which thread I saw it in-was a few months back.

I guess that picture probably shows the Stratus under every possible lighting Tari. ;) Definitely nice looking amps, if not my first preference for color.

Maybe it was Arnaud's photoshopped BHSE. He did a bunch showing the different colors.

Yeah, the pictures really do not do the Stratus any justice. The color and finish are super nice, it's a high gloss powder coating.

Nope, it's lighter.  Bugatti Blue.

Don't let my SO see that, or a Stratus will be my next amp. Dropping the Kandinsky card.
