If I had ants in my headphones I'd try this. Place the phones in a sealed container, like a large tupper ware container so that new/additional couldn't get to the phones. Then around the phones I'd dribble Terro Ant Killer. Terro attracts ant so it should draw them out of the phones and the kill them.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it wouldn't have worked. There was a nest inside, which required disassembly and cleanup. Even if all the ants would have been drawn out and killed, the nest would have remained inside. It was a messy job, but I cleaned them and all is well in Stax land.

They where probably just some head-fi-ants. Wanted to enjoy some sweet hi-fi sound, I understand them.

Oh dear lord wow. That must've been a total nightmare when you came to the realization that you had ANTS in your STAX. I've seen some weird stuff but never ants in headphones. But you'd be surprised I remember seeing a thread where a guy had a spider in his LCD.

I'd take hundreds of ants over one single spider.

Just read through this thread...all I can say is...BURN IT!

I once had to chase a giant tarantula around with a broomstick and a can of bug spray.

Spiders are OK. If you have spiders around, you don't have flies.

Though I did have a spider infestation in my car once. They lived in the AC vents, and when you turned on the fan it would blow these strange pale albino spiders right into your face.

You killed them! Them spider families. They just want to be cool. D: The mental image you getting sprayed with spiders is funny, but not when I'm at your place. :P
